Dustin Roberts and Rosemary Willrich
Our Employees of the Quarter for the First Quarter of Fiscal Year 2011
DUSTIN ROBERTS – Known for his pleasant persona and his knack for solving problems and providing great customer service, Dustin Roberts, Desktop Support Specialist in Information Resources Technologies, has been an asset to the agency since his first day on the job, always providing the highest level of quality customer service to all divisions of the agency, always ready to assist and doing so with the most positive and professional attitude.
Among his many recent accomplishments was to rework the power and data cabling in the Learning Center from developing specifications to final rollout. He was instrumental in setting up and breaking down the Learning Center for its debut performance in October for Ebsco training.
Dustin has stayed late on many occasions to set up, break down and make sure everything went smoothly in the Learning Center for various after-hours programs. This past fall, Dustin traveled to Liberty to the Sam Houston Center to work tirelessly on upgrading the work stations there and to train staff and answer questions.
Dustin always goes above and beyond what is asked of him and his actions always speak louder than his soft spoken nature. Here is an example of that. While Dustin was on the fourth floor assisting a TSLAC employee, he happened to look out the window and witnessed a person who fell down near the Capitol Visitors’ Parking Garage. Without hesitating, Dustin ran out of the building and across the street to help this person.
Whether Dustin is rescuing one of us from a computer dilemma or helping a stranger across the street, Dustin is the kind of person who makes the workplace better by being here. Congratulations, Dustin.
ROSEMARY WILLRICH – Rosemary Willrich, has been with us less than a year but that hasn’t stopped her from making a significant positive impact on her division, Library Resource Sharing, where she is the Administrative Support Specialist. Rosemary has redesigned procedures and organization in such areas as purchasing, records management and travel documents, all of which has made life easier for the LRS staff she supports. In addition to streamlining and improving processes, Rosemary manages extremely complicated statistics for the TexShare database program and reports them accurately and on a timely basis to the Legislative Budget Board.
She also recently worked tirelessly on the annual financial report for the Texas Heritage Online “Train to Share” grant. Rosemary always takes on new responsibilities even outside the division. This past fall, she volunteered to co-chair the agency’s State Employee Charitable Campaign and did such a great job with the record-keeping duties that the United Way liaison showered our agency with accolades on the organization and reliability of our records.
Finally, we couldn’t talk about Rosemary without saying something about her sunny disposition, for not only is her work done accurately and quickly, but always delivered with a smile. Congratulations, Rosemary!
