Pamela Rodriguez and Bonnie Cope

Our Employees of the Quarter for the Second Quarter of Fiscal Year 2013

Pamela Rodriguez - has been named Employee of the Quarter for the Second Quarter of FY2013.

Pam’s normal responsibilities include coordinating SLRM’s training, travel, billing, purchasing, and other administrative tasks. In addition, Pam has made a considerable effort to the local government compliance file scanning project. Completion of this project is very important to her division’s government information analysts, who rely on quick access to the scanned files to serve their customers.

“Pam is magic. She does the work of at least three (if not four?) people,” wrote one colleague in Pam’s nomination letter. “She enables the rest of the staff to focus on the tasks that they do best.”

Wrote another colleague: “Pam is an employee who both goes above and beyond the call of duty and does it with a smile on her face. She keeps up with all her regular duties, but pitches in whenever asked without pause. She also brings us cookies, brownies and other treats, which is always welcome!”

“Pam isn’t in my division, and yet time and again she’s gone out of her way to support and assist me,” wrote a third colleague. “I can’t think of anyone who deserves to be Employee of the Quarter more than her!”

TSLAC sincerely thanks Pam for her energetic service and proudly congratulates her for being named Employee of the Quarter for the Second Quarter of FY2013.

Bonnie Cope - supports the Talking Book Program as technical services librarian. Praised for her diligence, proficiency with technology, and distinguished contributions to TBP, Bonnie has been named Employee of the Quarter for the Second Quarter of FY2013.

As technical services librarian, Bonnie devises and initiates plans to solve problems and improve workflow within the Talking Book Program. She creates spreadsheets and uses other tools to track the progress of ongoing projects, such as reporting audio books TBP has recorded to the program’s parent organization at the Library of Congress, evaluating large print books for rebinding or withdrawal, and improving TBP’s catalog by supplying missing bibliographic information.

“Bonnie Cope is a phenomenal employee,” wrote one colleague in her nomination letter. “Her attention to detail, good humor, tenacity, and especially her inquisitiveness and intelligence, make her a joy to work with.”

Other colleagues cited Bonnie for her stellar performance after TBP’s automated library system crashed on the night of February 11, 2013.

Observed another colleague: “Bonnie devoted herself throughout February 12th and 13th to restoring our system, retrieving crucial data and bringing our system back online so that library service to our patrons could resume. She has the insight to see what needs to be done, what problems need to be solved, and she shows the drive, commitment and energy to do those tasks and solve those problems.”

TSLAC sincerely thanks Bonnie for her energetic service and proudly congratulates her for being named Employee of the Quarter for the Second Quarter of FY2013.
