Audio Transcript Boundless Basic Admin Training September, 4 2024 1 00:00:02.100 --> 00:00:11.349 Karen McElfresh: Alright. Hello, everybody, and welcome to our next Boundless training. Webinar. This is Session 2, which is the Basic Admin functions. 2 00:00:12.030 --> 00:00:33.170 Karen McElfresh: So I am Karen McElfresh. I am the E-Read Texas program manager at the Texas State Library, and with me again is Jesse Wilson from Baker and Taylor, and just like we did in session one, Jesse is going to be taking you through the training. I just have a couple pieces of business here at the top. So one more time here is the link for those slides. 3 00:00:34.647 --> 00:00:36.629 Karen McElfresh: Can you go to the next slide, Jesse? 4 00:00:37.550 --> 00:01:03.340 Karen McElfresh: Okay. So also in zoom, the captions feature is on. So if you want to enable the captions, it's at the bottom of the screen in that black bar where it says Show captions, and the 2 CC's icon. You can enable those, and then also we will still use the QA. Panel for questions. So just like we did in session one. If there's anything you have a question that you'd like Jesse or I to respond to, you can put it in that QA Panel box 5 00:01:04.468 --> 00:01:17.309 Karen McElfresh: and then the chat can just be for kind of informal things. I'll be putting links in there. But for questions, please use the QA. Panel, and we're also going to hold the questions till the end. Of the session. 6 00:01:17.500 --> 00:01:38.100 Karen McElfresh: Okay, next slide, Jesse. Again. Here's that link for the training or for the training page, but it also does have the slide download link on there as well. This also has the recordings for session one. If you did this session one? Or you just want to go back and take another look at that. Everything is on that training page. So 7 00:01:38.340 --> 00:01:39.970 Karen McElfresh: okay, next slide. 8 00:01:40.630 --> 00:02:01.100 Karen McElfresh: So today, Jesse is, we're going to talk about the basic admin functions. This is the back end side of Boundless, the administrative functions where you can do quite a bit of things. We have 2 sessions overall on the Admin function. This is the basic stuff. So we're going to talk about the onboarding email that you're going to be receiving next week? 9 00:02:01.524 --> 00:02:12.140 Karen McElfresh: So just to preface this session, you do not have a login for the Admin portal yet. It is coming soon next week between the 11th and the 16th is when you should see that email. 10 00:02:12.380 --> 00:02:17.810 Karen McElfresh: So for today's session, you do not need to log into anything you're just going to follow along with Jesse. 11 00:02:18.470 --> 00:02:33.449 Karen McElfresh: so she will show you a little more about that onboarding email. Also settings for the Admin Portal. Also reports. So that'll probably be the majority of the time is on the various types of reports that you can pull. And then, like, I said, we'll do questions at the end. 12 00:02:34.240 --> 00:02:38.250 Karen McElfresh: So with that Jesse over to you, I think. 13 00:02:38.970 --> 00:02:55.594 Jesse Wilson: Okay, thank you so much. So Hello, everybody again. I am Jesse Wilson. I work with Baker and Taylor as your digital customer success manager. I am the one that people come to when they have questions or need anything. 14 00:02:56.440 --> 00:02:58.470 Jesse Wilson: I am here to help out. 15 00:02:58.740 --> 00:03:04.979 Jesse Wilson: So today we are actually going to be looking like, Karen said at the back end of Boundless 16 00:03:05.985 --> 00:03:32.600 Jesse Wilson: I'm not going to go live and Boundless for this, because when I go into Boundless admin. My admin looks a little bit different than what your admin is going to look like. And that's just because I have extra features that happen on the back end so that I can help you out. So we are just going to stick to the slides today. But everything that I'm showing you has been pulled from admin so that you can see what it would look like. 17 00:03:33.870 --> 00:03:34.640 Jesse Wilson: Again. 18 00:03:35.370 --> 00:03:36.750 Jesse Wilson: Starting off. 19 00:03:36.920 --> 00:04:02.810 Jesse Wilson: Boundless administration is where you go to basically control everything, to deal with your Boundless application and your website. So here's where you go to get your information for stats. Where you customize, which is what we're going to talk about in the next series of trainings. The advanced series will be on customization. Like, we said today, we are just going to focus on some of the basics here. 20 00:04:02.900 --> 00:04:03.970 Jesse Wilson: So 21 00:04:04.060 --> 00:04:29.399 Jesse Wilson: when you get signed up for Boundless, and, as Karen mentioned, starting September 11th between then and the 16th you're going to receive an email from our onboarding team, and the onboarding team is going to be sending it to you from onboardingservices@baker-taylor.com. So that's a email that you're gonna want to put into 22 00:04:29.980 --> 00:04:35.400 Jesse Wilson: your email to make sure that it doesn't go into the spam filter. 23 00:04:35.710 --> 00:04:41.119 Jesse Wilson: So just be aware of that. And the email that they send you is going to look something like this. 24 00:04:41.220 --> 00:04:42.410 Jesse Wilson: So 25 00:04:43.280 --> 00:04:45.309 Jesse Wilson: for you, our normal 26 00:04:45.410 --> 00:04:50.509 Jesse Wilson: sample that I have up here. It gives you a basic rundown of 27 00:04:50.580 --> 00:04:55.519 Jesse Wilson: what you're getting, who we are and also your 28 00:04:55.700 --> 00:05:01.887 Jesse Wilson: Boundless information. Specifically. So, going through this email, you'll notice that 29 00:05:02.730 --> 00:05:07.240 Jesse Wilson: here is the Boundless site, URL, 30 00:05:07.280 --> 00:05:14.224 Jesse Wilson: and this is the URL that you can give to your it department to link on your websites 31 00:05:15.070 --> 00:05:19.570 Jesse Wilson: and then also how to get to your admin area here. 32 00:05:19.700 --> 00:05:28.329 Jesse Wilson: And the fun thing about that is, if you ever forget how to get to admin all it is is your regular URL with ADMIN, at the end. 33 00:05:29.665 --> 00:05:39.830 Jesse Wilson: It gives you your username and password credentials. Most of your Admin usernames are going to be, whatever your 34 00:05:39.990 --> 00:05:58.429 Jesse Wilson: URL prefixes here. So like ABC, 1, 2, 3, with admin at the end. And one of the things we're going to talk about is setting up your own admin to log in. I always tell people when I'm doing training save this email, this username and this password. 35 00:05:58.440 --> 00:06:06.919 Jesse Wilson: Use it as your default, that away don't change it, don't update it. Keep it on hand as 36 00:06:07.200 --> 00:06:15.380 Jesse Wilson: a way for people to use it. If there's an emergency. If their staff changes that away, you have that default there. 37 00:06:17.138 --> 00:06:29.590 Jesse Wilson: You get to learn about your other information, such as who I am, who you would come to Boundless support information as well as some resources. 38 00:06:29.920 --> 00:06:47.449 Jesse Wilson: A couple of things that is on this email that you're seeing here, that you will not have to worry about unless you have an unbound account, as we call it. Unless you're ordering for your library specifically with Boundless, you will not get an ordering number. You're just going to get 39 00:06:47.520 --> 00:06:54.349 Jesse Wilson: the basic information. So your Admin login urls and some support information there. 40 00:06:57.950 --> 00:07:07.636 Jesse Wilson: So when you get into admin using your URL. The 1st thing you're going to want to do is make sure everything works the way that it needs to 41 00:07:08.920 --> 00:07:10.820 Jesse Wilson: for your 42 00:07:10.850 --> 00:07:12.220 Jesse Wilson: log in. 43 00:07:12.630 --> 00:07:17.470 Jesse Wilson: I cannot tell you how many times I've done this, and I always cut and paste 44 00:07:17.540 --> 00:07:26.269 Jesse Wilson: my username and password when I use the onboarding. So when I get a new onboarding for an account I go in. Make sure it works. 45 00:07:26.290 --> 00:07:42.409 Jesse Wilson: If you cut and paste, please make sure there's no spaces in the beginning of your username or password, because for the password it will consider it a character, and you won't be able to get in. So please just be aware of that. But use the credentials that you get from. 46 00:07:42.540 --> 00:07:44.060 Jesse Wilson: Your onboarding email. 47 00:07:47.720 --> 00:07:50.390 Jesse Wilson: Once you get in to 48 00:07:50.400 --> 00:07:54.889 Jesse Wilson: your site, this is what's going to greet you for the most part. 49 00:07:55.550 --> 00:08:10.649 Jesse Wilson: And this is where I said note, depending on your setup, you might have different things on here, but this is the basic layout for most everybody. You're going to have a library settings, notifications, patron management. 50 00:08:10.750 --> 00:08:17.509 Jesse Wilson: Admin user management, manage hold queues and list management access 51 00:08:18.320 --> 00:08:22.729 Jesse Wilson: for library settings. This is where you would go to see 52 00:08:22.850 --> 00:08:23.980 Jesse Wilson: your 53 00:08:24.380 --> 00:08:42.719 Jesse Wilson: basic setup. There. You're never really going to use that for the most part. The 2 areas that are highlighted, the Admin user management and list management. Those are going to be the ones you're going to use. The most and list management is what we're going to cover in the customization training next time. 54 00:08:45.580 --> 00:09:13.350 Jesse Wilson: So under settings, this is where you can go in and find out what your basic library setup is. So if you ever have a question about how many holds you get checkout limit? All of that. You do see that information in this section. And I just wanted to point out, this is actually what you're going to see when you go into your site. This is your checkout and hold limits information for TSLAC. 55 00:09:13.350 --> 00:09:26.519 Jesse Wilson: So, for example, because you're in a consortia you don't update anything. This is all the same for everybody. So you have a checkout limit of 20, a hold limit of 10. 56 00:09:26.730 --> 00:09:28.619 Jesse Wilson: The whole period is 57 00:09:28.770 --> 00:09:40.930 Jesse Wilson: 3 days, minimum lending period 21 days maximum, 21 days. Default is 21 days and there are no renewals at this time. 58 00:09:41.640 --> 00:09:47.540 Jesse Wilson: So just to keep that in mind, this is how your parameters are going to be set up. 59 00:09:47.890 --> 00:09:50.150 Jesse Wilson: You don't have to make any changes 60 00:09:50.180 --> 00:09:51.620 Jesse Wilson: is already there. 61 00:09:55.730 --> 00:10:11.160 Jesse Wilson: The area that you're really going to want to know more about, though, is your admin user management. Like, I said, when you get that onboarding email, hold on to that information as a backup plan for emergencies. Staff changes. All of that. 62 00:10:11.440 --> 00:10:20.409 Jesse Wilson: I highly suggest that whoever is going to be working in admin the most, go in and set up your own Admin user management account. 63 00:10:20.620 --> 00:10:21.680 Jesse Wilson: So 64 00:10:21.700 --> 00:10:24.999 Jesse Wilson: what they can do is go in 65 00:10:25.150 --> 00:10:34.369 Jesse Wilson: and tap on admin user management. It will bring you to a screen where you go in and say, add someone to it. 66 00:10:34.400 --> 00:10:37.080 Jesse Wilson: little PIN icon there 67 00:10:38.410 --> 00:10:40.190 Jesse Wilson: and then 68 00:10:40.360 --> 00:10:51.880 Jesse Wilson: you would fill out this information. You don't have to fill out everything. It is going to require you to do a username, a password and an email address. 69 00:10:51.990 --> 00:10:59.500 Jesse Wilson: So again, if you cut and paste your email address in sometimes it could be a little weird about that. You might have to type everything out 70 00:11:01.190 --> 00:11:08.390 Jesse Wilson: for permissions. You can go in and set up permissions. 100% click every single box if you want. 71 00:11:08.440 --> 00:11:09.780 Jesse Wilson: that is up to you. 72 00:11:10.450 --> 00:11:21.700 Jesse Wilson: I will tell you that I have had libraries in the past, that someone only needed access to reports. So they went in and set up their admin user information and only got 73 00:11:22.290 --> 00:11:27.610 Jesse Wilson: the reports. So you can dictate who gets access to what in here? 74 00:11:29.830 --> 00:11:33.559 Jesse Wilson: that once that is done. You can now 75 00:11:33.670 --> 00:11:37.240 Jesse Wilson: turn around and use that admin 76 00:11:37.550 --> 00:11:39.030 Jesse Wilson: anytime you want. 77 00:11:39.310 --> 00:11:52.529 Jesse Wilson: and I'll go ahead and answer this question that came up. You can have as many admin accounts as you want. So if you have 5 people working in Boundless admin, each one of them can set up their own admin account. 78 00:11:52.880 --> 00:12:00.599 Jesse Wilson: and I highly suggest that just because one security purposes 2, it just makes life easier 79 00:12:01.140 --> 00:12:02.370 Jesse Wilson: for everybody. 80 00:12:03.120 --> 00:12:06.960 Jesse Wilson: That way. You know what you're putting in there. And we're good. 81 00:12:09.360 --> 00:12:16.860 Jesse Wilson: Once you have that done, you sign in using that information and go about working within the Admin area. 82 00:12:18.600 --> 00:12:32.350 Jesse Wilson: One thing to pay attention to when you are setting up your password. I just want to point out it needs to be at least 8 characters in length needs to have at least one uppercase letter, one lower case letter and one number. 83 00:12:32.780 --> 00:12:35.069 Jesse Wilson: So just be aware of that. 84 00:12:38.930 --> 00:12:45.420 Jesse Wilson: The big area where you're going to see a lot more activity is going to be with reports. 85 00:12:45.590 --> 00:13:00.430 Jesse Wilson: And on your home screen you're going to see that there are 2 styles of reports that we're going to go over today. One is called interactive dashboards, and the other one is just reports, or what I usually call legacy reports. 86 00:13:00.450 --> 00:13:03.029 Jesse Wilson: The biggest difference between the 2 87 00:13:03.490 --> 00:13:14.969 Jesse Wilson: is with interactive dashboard reports as we're going to see. I'll call them the purty reports, because they have a lot of graphs and images that go along with it. Whereas the legacy reports 88 00:13:15.830 --> 00:13:22.979 Jesse Wilson: what you see here. That's just reports or reports. Tab, that's going to be mainly spreadsheet data. 89 00:13:23.050 --> 00:13:25.400 Jesse Wilson: So it just depends on what you want. 90 00:13:25.460 --> 00:13:34.009 Jesse Wilson: Personally, I work with the spreadsheets more than I do with the interactive dashboards. Again, it just depends on what your purposes are and what you're looking for. 91 00:13:36.940 --> 00:13:39.779 Jesse Wilson: So we're going to start with the interactive dashboards. 92 00:13:39.900 --> 00:13:44.139 Jesse Wilson: And there are 3 different areas that you can click into 93 00:13:44.900 --> 00:13:50.459 Jesse Wilson: inventory reports, circulation reports and user reports. 94 00:13:51.480 --> 00:14:19.239 Jesse Wilson: We're going to start off with the inventory dashboard reports. So with the inventory report, when you click into that, you're going to see all of these options. So you have take your time. When you get your onboarding information, go in and click through each one of these, but the main dashboard that you're going to look for is this inventory dashboard here? And it will actually allow you to click through all of the other 95 00:14:19.570 --> 00:14:21.280 Jesse Wilson: areas here 96 00:14:23.800 --> 00:14:38.279 Jesse Wilson: for inventory dashboard. When you go in. It's going to give you this basic information. Now let me be clear. When you click on this. It's going to show your library data. 97 00:14:38.450 --> 00:14:47.030 Jesse Wilson: In this case it is showing E-Read Texas, TSLAC's information because it is the whole consortia. 98 00:14:47.250 --> 00:14:49.759 Jesse Wilson: If you are someone who has 99 00:14:49.820 --> 00:14:52.809 Jesse Wilson: extra materials in this 100 00:14:53.339 --> 00:15:04.360 Jesse Wilson: collection. It's going to show you those numbers as well. So don't panic. If you see 14,000 titles versus someone who might have 101 00:15:05.020 --> 00:15:13.399 Jesse Wilson: an unbound account of with extra materials in there you might have 17,000 titles. So just be aware of that. 102 00:15:14.610 --> 00:15:21.359 Jesse Wilson: You can go in and customize what you're looking for. So here it shows you your titles. 103 00:15:21.380 --> 00:15:31.660 Jesse Wilson: how they break down with ebooks and audios, shows you your bisex subject areas. We're going to talk a lot about bisects and the customization training. 104 00:15:32.241 --> 00:15:35.750 Jesse Wilson: It shows you your titles by audience 105 00:15:36.090 --> 00:15:48.860 Jesse Wilson: and also a little bit of a removed title. Now, I pulled this yesterday. So this is updated information as of yesterday. It will change, of course, as Karen and her team changes 106 00:15:48.900 --> 00:15:51.099 Jesse Wilson: what comes in and what goes out. 107 00:15:51.300 --> 00:16:11.230 Jesse Wilson: you can also change it to where you can look at different dates. So, for example, if you are someone who needs to have a report, for how many titles did you have for the year between January 1st and December 31st you could go in and change the dates up here. 108 00:16:14.810 --> 00:16:22.739 Jesse Wilson: Let me go back one more time. And if you ever have questions and want to like, go in and click on each of these little 109 00:16:22.890 --> 00:16:29.859 Jesse Wilson: areas, it will take you to that full report like what we saw back here with these. 110 00:16:30.020 --> 00:16:32.509 Jesse Wilson: So you have some options there as well 111 00:16:34.350 --> 00:16:49.440 Jesse Wilson: under user reports. Not a lot of people use user reports. But this is something that you might be using in order to give again yearly data reports here. You have new users, total users. 112 00:16:49.580 --> 00:16:55.209 Jesse Wilson: and the user dashboard again. That's the overarching dashboard that you see here. 113 00:16:58.120 --> 00:17:04.810 Jesse Wilson: as of right now for year 2024. This is showing all of the user data for TSLAC 114 00:17:05.444 --> 00:17:13.605 Jesse Wilson: underneath this you could click on the various graphs and download or export these as 115 00:17:14.180 --> 00:17:19.589 Jesse Wilson: Pngs Jpegs. Also as excel data from here. 116 00:17:20.790 --> 00:17:22.420 Jesse Wilson: down at the bottom. 117 00:17:22.480 --> 00:17:25.079 Jesse Wilson: you have your landing screen. 118 00:17:25.563 --> 00:17:37.179 Jesse Wilson: User dashboard, new users, total users all of that. You can click through there and see the various report options as well to sort of go down into the reports even more. 119 00:17:39.200 --> 00:17:45.780 Jesse Wilson: Please note, though, what you see on the screen is what you get. We do not give out 120 00:17:46.150 --> 00:17:50.238 Jesse Wilson: specific user data. So, for example, 121 00:17:50.990 --> 00:17:57.650 Jesse Wilson: there might be 7,000 users that are happening over the course of the year so far. 122 00:17:58.170 --> 00:18:02.430 Jesse Wilson: but I don't have access to each individual number. 123 00:18:02.965 --> 00:18:07.969 Jesse Wilson: Of logins, like what logins were used because we do not 124 00:18:08.340 --> 00:18:11.120 Jesse Wilson: hold on to that data on the front end. 125 00:18:16.240 --> 00:18:23.609 Jesse Wilson: The next report that you're going to be interested in is the circulation report. And honestly, this is the one that gets used the most. 126 00:18:24.990 --> 00:18:27.410 Jesse Wilson: So with circulation reports 127 00:18:27.750 --> 00:18:28.870 Jesse Wilson: again. 128 00:18:29.070 --> 00:18:41.130 Jesse Wilson: circulation dashboard is going to be the place that you're going to want to go another area that you're going to be interested in. But we're going to talk more about in a few is the hold list area. 129 00:18:41.970 --> 00:18:45.359 Jesse Wilson: But circulations dashboard again. 130 00:18:45.570 --> 00:19:00.052 Jesse Wilson: Here's the overarching view. When you log in to your Boundless admin site. This is going to show circulations just for your library. So using your admin information, this will show 131 00:19:00.570 --> 00:19:06.659 Jesse Wilson: library. ABC has 15 circulations in the past month, for example. 132 00:19:06.870 --> 00:19:09.680 Jesse Wilson: so it will not show everything for 133 00:19:09.800 --> 00:19:12.640 Jesse Wilson: all of the organization just you. 134 00:19:13.590 --> 00:19:29.799 Jesse Wilson: And this is very helpful for your reports so you can go in again and see your total circulations. Active holds, also by audience level, which is really nice breakdown for a lot of people. 135 00:19:31.300 --> 00:19:37.449 Jesse Wilson: again, you can go up here to the top right and change your customization. 136 00:19:37.490 --> 00:19:52.210 Jesse Wilson: When you are doing this, I highly suggest customizing your dates before you try to dive deeper into everything just because that means you're getting the data that you want for that time period. 137 00:19:53.310 --> 00:19:58.249 Jesse Wilson: With these dashboards couple of things to pay attention to 138 00:19:58.260 --> 00:19:59.310 Jesse Wilson: one. 139 00:19:59.910 --> 00:20:03.170 Jesse Wilson: You can customize dates as far back as 2020. 140 00:20:04.330 --> 00:20:09.250 Jesse Wilson: Don't worry about that. Y'all are starting off fresh here in October. 141 00:20:09.730 --> 00:20:15.580 Jesse Wilson: when you click on the circulation date area it will pop up an option with 142 00:20:15.740 --> 00:20:22.779 Jesse Wilson: January like 2020. Click on that and go to 2024, or you can type in the date there. 143 00:20:23.290 --> 00:20:36.629 Jesse Wilson: Secondly, all these areas that you're seeing here if you click on the graph or on the data here, it will either take you to another report, or it will dive into that data even more. 144 00:20:36.690 --> 00:20:51.759 Jesse Wilson: This is really useful, especially with the bisects like the top 10 circulations here, you can export this out and use it for your data report or for customization purposes, as we're going to see next time. 145 00:20:53.045 --> 00:21:00.279 Jesse Wilson: The other thing to realize is that the interactive dashboard reports overall get updated once a day. 146 00:21:00.300 --> 00:21:06.719 Jesse Wilson: It is not real time data. So this gets updated at like 2 am. Every day. 147 00:21:07.010 --> 00:21:08.889 Jesse Wilson: So just be aware of that. 148 00:21:13.900 --> 00:21:21.959 Jesse Wilson: As I mentioned before, another thing that you can do with the interactive dashboards is, go in and get your holds list. 149 00:21:22.700 --> 00:21:34.040 Jesse Wilson: The holds list would be for your library in particular. And it just basically tells you what you see on the list here. So it shows you 150 00:21:34.510 --> 00:21:39.680 Jesse Wilson: how many holds are available. The Isbn, title. 151 00:21:39.800 --> 00:21:45.060 Jesse Wilson: and you can go down through and see subjects. All of that is on here. 152 00:21:45.560 --> 00:21:55.659 Jesse Wilson: You will not have to worry too much about the hold ratio. Most people use that for purchasing, so that they make sure there's enough in the system. 153 00:21:55.730 --> 00:22:01.939 Jesse Wilson: Don't worry about hold ratio. You I would focus mainly on the active holds here. 154 00:22:03.800 --> 00:22:10.440 Jesse Wilson: You will see that this is a little different in a minute when we go to our legacy reports. So 155 00:22:10.470 --> 00:22:14.429 Jesse Wilson: it just depends on what you want in your report. 156 00:22:16.870 --> 00:22:21.119 Jesse Wilson: So I keep saying legacy reports, and here we are. 157 00:22:21.150 --> 00:22:32.989 Jesse Wilson: So with these reports. When you click on that report tab that was in the top right of the screen or on the reports area in the main 158 00:22:33.480 --> 00:22:35.859 Jesse Wilson: menu of your admin area. 159 00:22:36.240 --> 00:22:38.430 Jesse Wilson: This is where it's going to take you. 160 00:22:38.660 --> 00:22:55.390 Jesse Wilson: and there are a ton of wonderful reports that we have on hand for you that you can click through and peruse. I am only going to focus on a few today, and I'll explain a little bit more about the other ones in just a moment. 161 00:22:56.630 --> 00:23:00.400 Jesse Wilson: The legacy reports are real time reports. 162 00:23:00.490 --> 00:23:04.849 Jesse Wilson: So when you pull this data, it is as up to date as 163 00:23:04.980 --> 00:23:06.469 Jesse Wilson: a few minutes ago. 164 00:23:07.340 --> 00:23:13.749 Jesse Wilson: In this case the ones that I see used the most are the inventory list reports 165 00:23:13.860 --> 00:23:18.280 Jesse Wilson: the hold report and the circulation list reports. 166 00:23:19.133 --> 00:23:21.500 Jesse Wilson: When you click into these 167 00:23:22.280 --> 00:23:35.040 Jesse Wilson: like, for example, the inventory list report. This is probably the most used report that I see. Because one it tells you what is in your entire collection. 168 00:23:35.640 --> 00:23:51.449 Jesse Wilson: Two, it is a great thing to pull when you get access to your admin, and have that as an excel spreadsheet in order to help with customization. And, in fact, we will discuss this more as we go through the customization training 169 00:23:52.540 --> 00:23:54.640 Jesse Wilson: for your inventory report. 170 00:23:54.910 --> 00:24:02.479 Jesse Wilson: You would go in and click on inventory list report, and then you could go in and actually 171 00:24:02.850 --> 00:24:05.130 Jesse Wilson: narrow things down even more 172 00:24:05.320 --> 00:24:12.870 Jesse Wilson: so you could do by subjects, audience, purchase dates, formats, languages, all of that is on there. 173 00:24:14.270 --> 00:24:16.639 Jesse Wilson: as you see here. 174 00:24:17.330 --> 00:24:24.169 Jesse Wilson: So again, this is an Excel style spreadsheet that you have laid out for you. 175 00:24:24.750 --> 00:24:26.100 Jesse Wilson: It will be 176 00:24:26.500 --> 00:24:52.129 Jesse Wilson: based on your library specifically. So when I go in and do an inventory report, I actually have the option to choose various libraries like, I said, mine's a little bit different. But when you log into your admin it will be based on your particular library. So instead of seeing Brocksville Public Library, you will see 177 00:24:52.410 --> 00:24:57.180 Jesse Wilson: your ABC. Library, whatever the library name is. 178 00:24:58.460 --> 00:25:10.669 Jesse Wilson: so you can go in here and choose the subject area. So all those Bisacs that we've been talking about. That we're going to come back to as well. You can go in and say, you know what I just want to see 179 00:25:10.850 --> 00:25:18.489 Jesse Wilson: everything. We have juvenile fiction, comics and graphic novels. Boom! You could pull that up like that. 180 00:25:18.990 --> 00:25:26.520 Jesse Wilson: You could go in and say, I only want to see what we've gotten between January 1st of this year to now 181 00:25:27.090 --> 00:25:29.529 Jesse Wilson: and change that up. However you like. 182 00:25:30.220 --> 00:25:40.460 Jesse Wilson: If you're looking for a specific title, author information like that. You can also use the search box here and go through and find that information 183 00:25:42.620 --> 00:25:45.280 Jesse Wilson: when you're ready to export this data. 184 00:25:45.540 --> 00:25:49.409 Jesse Wilson: click on the disk yet the 3.5 floppy here. 185 00:25:49.500 --> 00:25:51.860 Jesse Wilson: and you have a couple of choices. 186 00:25:51.930 --> 00:26:00.870 Jesse Wilson: I always choose excel when I do this, just to have an Excel workbook, but it's up to you for how you like to receive your data. 187 00:26:02.060 --> 00:26:04.240 Jesse Wilson: When this gets exported. 188 00:26:05.040 --> 00:26:07.290 Jesse Wilson: It's going to look something like this 189 00:26:07.310 --> 00:26:09.089 Jesse Wilson: in your 190 00:26:09.300 --> 00:26:10.530 Jesse Wilson: excel sheet. 191 00:26:10.760 --> 00:26:19.469 Jesse Wilson: So you have your library name, BISAC, subject breakdown. Which is very, very useful for you. 192 00:26:19.910 --> 00:26:26.299 Jesse Wilson: Isbn title, author publication, date, publisher, audience level. 193 00:26:26.490 --> 00:26:28.400 Jesse Wilson: The date that it's added 194 00:26:28.460 --> 00:26:29.830 Jesse Wilson: format. 195 00:26:29.910 --> 00:26:41.579 Jesse Wilson: And then it goes into just basic data like, how many is on hand? How many is being ordered? Member quantity means, how many do you specifically have? And it will 196 00:26:41.600 --> 00:26:51.300 Jesse Wilson: always match with the total quantity? More than likely, unless you have extra copies on hand. Parent quantity. You don't have to worry about that. 197 00:26:52.253 --> 00:26:56.779 Jesse Wilson: Total checkout. So this gives you that checkout data that you've been looking for. 198 00:26:57.425 --> 00:27:02.319 Jesse Wilson: Holds. All of that is going to be available in this 199 00:27:03.180 --> 00:27:04.120 Jesse Wilson: report. 200 00:27:07.330 --> 00:27:08.480 Jesse Wilson: So 201 00:27:08.720 --> 00:27:13.240 Jesse Wilson: when you are looking at reports and I have a couple more that I'll show you. 202 00:27:14.162 --> 00:27:17.169 Jesse Wilson: The most used. Report 203 00:27:17.270 --> 00:27:20.319 Jesse Wilson: is the inventory list report 204 00:27:20.930 --> 00:27:24.230 Jesse Wilson: circulation list, report, hold report. 205 00:27:24.540 --> 00:27:35.680 Jesse Wilson: Then, getting down into a couple of others that I've seen people use a lot active checkout report. This is one where you can see what is actively being checked out at this time. 206 00:27:36.553 --> 00:27:39.219 Jesse Wilson: Your top 10 circulating subjects. 207 00:27:39.600 --> 00:27:50.210 Jesse Wilson: which is very useful if you're doing customization also. It's really useful for marketing in your library, as we're going to talk about. 208 00:27:50.530 --> 00:28:04.700 Jesse Wilson: You have new users by month and total users by month. So you have that wonderful breakdown as well. So if you notice a lot of what we discussed with the interactive dashboard reports, you're also going to see here. 209 00:28:05.200 --> 00:28:13.489 Jesse Wilson: This gives you just a basic rundown of the other reports that are available as well, and Karen has these on the slides 210 00:28:13.700 --> 00:28:15.880 Jesse Wilson: for you to review. 211 00:28:17.760 --> 00:28:20.190 Jesse Wilson: So I'm going to go back real quick 212 00:28:20.600 --> 00:28:25.669 Jesse Wilson: for the circulation list report that we discussed again. 213 00:28:25.790 --> 00:28:39.120 Jesse Wilson: It's going to look pretty much like the inventory list. Report. Your hold reports again. Will look a lot like the inventory list reports. So they're all going to sort of be the same excel format. 214 00:28:39.340 --> 00:28:41.594 Jesse Wilson: You won't have to worry about 215 00:28:42.430 --> 00:28:44.840 Jesse Wilson: seeing something majorly different there. 216 00:28:48.590 --> 00:29:01.131 Jesse Wilson: So for some just sort of wrap everything up. I know that's a lot of information that I threw at you about the reports alone and about sort of the admin setup, and we'll go through the 217 00:29:01.500 --> 00:29:09.969 Jesse Wilson: The questions in just a moment. But I just want to point out that we do have some great support sites for you 218 00:29:10.020 --> 00:29:14.510 Jesse Wilson: built in to the Admin area. So 1st things first.st 219 00:29:15.040 --> 00:29:19.340 Jesse Wilson: If you ever have questions or you need support with admin. 220 00:29:20.521 --> 00:29:24.670 Jesse Wilson: We have the TSLAC, direct support information here. 221 00:29:25.130 --> 00:29:31.239 Jesse Wilson: and there's going to be a support request form as well that you're going to fill out. 222 00:29:33.080 --> 00:30:00.529 Jesse Wilson: We also have built into the Admin a couple of support areas here. So we have the support form here. That's just a generic form. Oops. Let me go back. Also, we have a help area. The help area is fantastic because it actually has full descriptions, full walkthroughs of everything that I talked about. So you can actually go to this site here. 223 00:30:01.880 --> 00:30:04.529 Jesse Wilson: and it will show 224 00:30:13.300 --> 00:30:14.570 Jesse Wilson: this right here. 225 00:30:15.460 --> 00:30:24.170 Jesse Wilson: And so now you can go in and learn all about reports management. All of that is available to you through that link 226 00:30:24.710 --> 00:30:25.800 Jesse Wilson: right here. 227 00:30:25.930 --> 00:30:41.230 Jesse Wilson: and I use that a lot myself when I'm giving emails or helping people out. And of course you always have access to me. Your digital customer success manager. If you ever have questions and you have access to the TSLAC team? 228 00:30:42.138 --> 00:30:44.130 Jesse Wilson: So at this point. 229 00:30:45.830 --> 00:30:48.690 Jesse Wilson: Karen, if you want to pick up from here. 230 00:30:49.400 --> 00:31:00.849 Karen McElfresh: Sure. And I also just wanna mention you know some of this looking at it in this way. Maybe you're like, I don't really understand. You do have the slides as a reference point, and once you have your login 231 00:31:01.426 --> 00:31:21.439 Karen McElfresh: I would recommend going in and just playing around with stuff. You can't break anything. You can't mess anything up like all of anything that is set is already set by me and Jesse, you know so. And you're not allowed to change it. So, as far as reports go, just start running different things and see what see what it does. And I think that'll be a good way to learn more about this 232 00:31:21.799 --> 00:31:35.969 Karen McElfresh: also, since we're talking about it. And Samantha asked this question. So I'm going to go ahead and answer it. So Samantha's question is currently with SimplyE, we're emailed monthly reports from TSLAC. With Boundless will we be responsible for running these reports? Or will they be? 233 00:31:36.000 --> 00:31:51.890 Karen McElfresh: This is available on demand. But I think you meant, will they be sent to you? You can log into the Admin portal and run any report you want at any time on your own. But we will be emailing you a report as well. I'm still working with Baker and Taylor on the details for that. 234 00:31:52.200 --> 00:31:56.970 Karen McElfresh: But you will get your essential information, your checkouts, and holds at a minimum. 235 00:31:57.360 --> 00:32:17.409 Karen McElfresh: What we wanted to do today is to show you all of the reports that are available to you, and also just make you aware you have access to these things. Maybe there's information that you didn't even know you could get. And now, you know, like, oh, I could do this myself. But those essential data points, checkouts and holds will be emailed to you on a monthly basis, just like they are. Now. 236 00:32:18.110 --> 00:32:23.439 Karen McElfresh: okay. So let me point out a couple of things, and then we'll get to the rest of the questions, and you can keep typing in 237 00:32:23.500 --> 00:32:25.949 Karen McElfresh: questions as you 238 00:32:27.090 --> 00:32:51.089 Karen McElfresh: as you think of them. As I get through this. So I'm not going to go through everything here. I just wanted to remind you about the promotion and marketing materials. I went over this in session one. So I'm just going to put that link back in the chat. Take a look at this page to see all the promotional materials that are available. I added a social media graphic that you can use. If you want to put something on your Facebook page about the change from SimplyE to Boundless. 239 00:32:51.140 --> 00:32:55.480 Karen McElfresh: There's also those flyers that I mentioned. You can go ahead and click through Jesse. 240 00:32:57.053 --> 00:33:07.199 Karen McElfresh: So that's the front of the flyer and then click again. It's the back, so to help with the transition. If you want to use that, that's on the website, and you can just print that to regular size paper. 241 00:33:07.300 --> 00:33:10.689 Karen McElfresh: And then next is the Baker and Taylor. 242 00:33:11.990 --> 00:33:13.530 Karen McElfresh: marketing page. 243 00:33:13.710 --> 00:33:15.599 Karen McElfresh: Get that link for you. 244 00:33:16.093 --> 00:33:30.830 Karen McElfresh: And again the slides are available with all of these links. But I would recommend looking at this one when you have some time just to see what is available on this page, and you're welcome to use the TSLAC stuff. The baker and Taylor stuff. Both make your own whatever you'd like to do. 245 00:33:31.060 --> 00:33:32.920 Karen McElfresh: Okay? And then next slide. 246 00:33:33.430 --> 00:33:54.509 Karen McElfresh: So next steps, as we said the next week, between the September 11th and the 16th, you will get your onboarding email from Baker and Taylor. It will be sent to whoever is the primary contact. So in the forms that you filled out to set up Boundless. We asked you for a contact. So whoever that is, that's who's going to get the email. 247 00:33:54.510 --> 00:34:07.469 Karen McElfresh: so it may not be you, but it might be someone else at your library. So if we get to the 17th and you're like I didn't get anything. Check with your coworkers. If there's someone else who might have been the one to sign up for everything, ask them. 248 00:34:07.470 --> 00:34:19.599 Karen McElfresh: And then, if you don't see it, you can email the ebooks@tsl.texas.gov email. It's in the middle of the screen and we'll look at. We'll chase it down for you. Also maybe check your junk and your spam. 249 00:34:20.130 --> 00:34:31.560 Karen McElfresh: but hopefully you'll get it without any problems. And then once you get it, make sure you save that email somewhere. Special. Print it, whatever you want to do because it does have a lot of important information in it for you 250 00:34:32.940 --> 00:34:36.619 Karen McElfresh: again. The Listserv is going to be your main. Oh, can you go back? One sec. 251 00:34:36.620 --> 00:34:37.120 Jesse Wilson: Sorry. 252 00:34:37.120 --> 00:34:47.660 Karen McElfresh: That's okay. The listserv is going to be the main place. I post updates as we get closer to the live date, we're under 30 days. So so there might be a lot more activity on that Listserv. 253 00:34:47.670 --> 00:35:05.489 Karen McElfresh: And if you're not sure if you're on it, you can email me, and I will. I will check, and then the pop up announcements, and SimplyE will start showing up on Monday, September 9th and they will continue throughout the month, and it's just a little message to tell your patrons like, Hey, something. Things are changing. Check with your library for details. 254 00:35:05.550 --> 00:35:08.060 Karen McElfresh: and kind of advises them 255 00:35:08.480 --> 00:35:31.870 Karen McElfresh: to wrap up checkouts if they can, just because, again, checkouts are not going to transfer over from SimplyE to Boundless but but SimplyE will stay up so that people can finish their books if they need to. So and if anybody has questions about that, I can get into more more details. You can just put something in the in the Q. And A, and I'll explain more if you would like me to. Okay next slide. 256 00:35:33.810 --> 00:35:41.660 Karen McElfresh: And then we have the advanced admin training session is starting September 19th or sorry, the 17th the 19th or the 20th 257 00:35:41.700 --> 00:35:50.739 Karen McElfresh: and this is going to cover a whole bunch more admin stuff that we didn't show you today. But this is customization. So this will go over ways to 258 00:35:50.810 --> 00:36:00.929 Karen McElfresh: tailor the collection. If you want to have special, you know, and SimplyE terminology we call them lanes. So when you log in like, if you want to have a feature on Halloween books or Christmas books. 259 00:36:00.950 --> 00:36:05.346 Karen McElfresh: You can learn how to do that in session 3. We will also talk about 260 00:36:06.030 --> 00:36:14.299 Karen McElfresh: programs. A lot of you had some interest in programs that we showed in session one. So in Session 3, we will explain how to set those up. 261 00:36:15.180 --> 00:36:36.420 Karen McElfresh: So all of the training information is on the training web page, and there's that link for you. So this will have the sign up links for the remaining sessions as well as the recordings. Once those are posted for sessions 2 and 3. And again, if you missed Session one, I would highly encourage you to go back and watch that recording, and it is on that training page as well. 262 00:36:37.170 --> 00:36:40.399 Karen McElfresh: Okay. Next slide. I think it's just questions. 263 00:36:42.170 --> 00:36:47.430 Karen McElfresh: yes, okay. So we will leave this here and let's start with the questions. 264 00:36:47.980 --> 00:36:57.707 Jesse Wilson: Hey? So would Staff need to have access to access patron student management. No, actually, I'm gonna go ahead. And actually. 265 00:36:58.670 --> 00:37:08.472 Jesse Wilson: I'm gonna keep that up there. Actually. No, you really don't need to have access to that. Honestly, when you go into the patron and student management. 266 00:37:09.090 --> 00:37:18.699 Jesse Wilson: All that does is just show you some of the patrons that are in there. You might be able to see some of the holds that they have or something like that. Honestly, most people don't use that. 267 00:37:19.102 --> 00:37:28.667 Jesse Wilson: On the basic library level. If there's an issue with the patron, we highly suggest that you send it to support so that they can 268 00:37:30.090 --> 00:37:42.299 Jesse Wilson: help that patron out like what we discussed in the app training, using that feedback area or using the support form that you're going to have on your TSLAC page there? 269 00:37:45.450 --> 00:37:51.519 Jesse Wilson: If they are not finished with the book, how long do they have to wait to check it out again if they did not finish. 270 00:37:54.449 --> 00:38:19.059 Karen McElfresh: I think it's just a few seconds right? Once the book checks in, and then as long as the book is not on hold. If the book is on, hold your patron will not be able to recheck it out. The other thing I wanted to say about this one is right now. So when Jesse showed you it said, Renewals no, once we go live in October, I'm gonna change that, and I will enable renewals so that option will be there again as long as the book is not on. Hold. 271 00:38:19.110 --> 00:38:30.009 Karen McElfresh: It's not on right now, just because we're still dealing with SimplyE. And I don't think that is a compatible setting with SimplyE, so. But I will flip that switch in October. 272 00:38:32.725 --> 00:38:35.984 Karen McElfresh: And then I'll answer the next one here from Alicia. 273 00:38:36.350 --> 00:38:47.139 Karen McElfresh: Will Cloud Library and Libby titles be available through Boundless? No, they will not be available through Boundless. The only thing you'll see in. Boundless is the content from the E-Read Texas collection. 274 00:38:47.270 --> 00:38:51.927 Karen McElfresh: unless you choose to add your own, which gets into the next 2 questions 275 00:38:52.440 --> 00:39:05.680 Karen McElfresh: from Heidi about how many libraries are part of the consortium. It is going to be 190 that are going live on Boundless, and then we will probably add more. After that we were at 210 with SimplyE, we're going down a little bit. 276 00:39:05.700 --> 00:39:23.690 Karen McElfresh: but so roughly 200 I should just say it that way. And then are we able to purchase titles to add, you can. I want to make sure everyone's clear. It's completely optional. You do not have to pay for anything with this program unless you want to. So if you have an interest in buying titles. 277 00:39:23.740 --> 00:39:30.840 Karen McElfresh: you can do that, but they would only be for your library. So you there's not an option for you to add titles to the consortium. 278 00:39:31.120 --> 00:39:54.570 Karen McElfresh: Maybe someday. But right now no so it would just be like. That's what Jesse was referring to as the Unbound account. If you have Overdrive, it's the same thing as an Advantage account with Overdrive, so you can open your own account, and you can purchase titles for your specific library. That would only be available to your patrons, and they would see them inbound list alongside everything from the E-Read Texas 279 00:39:54.600 --> 00:39:56.000 Karen McElfresh: shared collection. 280 00:39:56.966 --> 00:40:10.369 Karen McElfresh: The other nice things here is, if you do that, there's no platform fee. So you're covered for your platform fee as with your membership in E-Read Texas, and then you also get it's a 5% discount, right, Jesse? 281 00:40:10.370 --> 00:40:11.080 Jesse Wilson: Yep. 282 00:40:11.080 --> 00:40:13.550 Karen McElfresh: You get a 5% discount on content. 283 00:40:13.590 --> 00:40:25.930 Karen McElfresh: So maybe you want to look into that, my recommendation would be be that you focus on just going live right now and then, if you are, have an interest in that October November, you know, sometime down the line we can revisit that. 284 00:40:26.290 --> 00:40:34.360 Karen McElfresh: It. That option is available to you at any time. You don't have to do it by a certain deadline, and we can get you set up, I think, pretty quickly 285 00:40:34.450 --> 00:40:42.603 Karen McElfresh: if you would like to do that, or I should say Baker and Taylor can get you set up, because actually, I'm not part of that. If you want to do an Unbound account, 286 00:40:42.830 --> 00:40:47.169 Jesse Wilson: Yeah, Karen, I was going to say that if anybody has questions about 287 00:40:47.330 --> 00:41:08.449 Jesse Wilson: adding extra titles for their libraries, or transferring titles from overdrive or Cloud Library. Anything like that, please email me personally because I am the one who can get you those answers. I agree with Karen with what she said, this is a great opportunity to really grow your collection a lot. But at the same time 288 00:41:09.200 --> 00:41:19.670 Jesse Wilson: you are. Oh, my gosh! 28 days from going live around about. So definitely email me, if you have questions specifically 289 00:41:20.098 --> 00:41:25.260 Jesse Wilson: and I can put my email address into the chat in a moment there. 290 00:41:26.635 --> 00:41:33.029 Jesse Wilson: If we purchase our own content in addition, will that content follow the pro program's lending policies? Yes. 291 00:41:33.280 --> 00:41:43.039 Jesse Wilson: so because of the way your setup is now. It will follow that same policy there, because you're piggybacking off of those settings with the site. 292 00:41:45.960 --> 00:41:53.919 Jesse Wilson: can I set a date for my eread report. My reports are due the 1st of the month, and I usually see the report on the 5th of the month. 293 00:41:54.302 --> 00:42:12.040 Jesse Wilson: So, as Karen mentioned, we are working on getting a generic report put together for you, with some great touch points there, and those usually come out the 1st week of the month, depending on how things fall. If you need to pull your own reports for the first. 294 00:42:12.527 --> 00:42:26.050 Jesse Wilson: What I suggest doing is going into whatever report that you need set those parameters for that month, and then pull it that way everything will be updated either in real time or 295 00:42:26.770 --> 00:42:32.179 Jesse Wilson: by that morning. So, for example. September 1st happened on Sunday. 296 00:42:32.200 --> 00:42:35.290 Jesse Wilson: The reports were ready to go Sunday afternoon. 297 00:42:35.310 --> 00:42:36.790 Jesse Wilson: So it is 298 00:42:36.980 --> 00:42:39.260 Jesse Wilson: within that 1st day there. 299 00:42:40.010 --> 00:42:46.570 Karen McElfresh: Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing, Pam, if you need a report on the 1st of every month, then I would recommend 300 00:42:46.740 --> 00:43:07.217 Karen McElfresh: going in and pulling that yourself because the emailed report it is a manually like the person who's making it has to actually go in and do it. So it's not gonna come out on the 1st. I think we will probably set the same deadline of the 5th of the month as the latest that it can come to you? But we're still working on that. 301 00:43:08.260 --> 00:43:09.040 Karen McElfresh: yeah. 302 00:43:13.053 --> 00:43:26.520 Karen McElfresh: Do you want me to? Beatrice asked. Do we have to wait until live date to promote. No, you can start telling people about this now, but when you tell them it's on October 1st is when they start doubt logging into Boundless. 303 00:43:26.620 --> 00:43:30.220 Karen McElfresh: They still should use SimplyE for this month. But 304 00:43:30.620 --> 00:43:35.090 Karen McElfresh: but you can start telling people now and start using that flyer or any of the 305 00:43:35.660 --> 00:43:41.530 Karen McElfresh: the other promotional materials, those of you that ordered flyers and bookmarks, the printed ones. 306 00:43:41.650 --> 00:43:56.659 Karen McElfresh: So we are still. They should be coming from the printer this week, and so we will start packing and shipping those as soon as we can. So hopefully, within the next couple of weeks you'll start getting those, but there's a lot of orders, so we'll do. We'll do them as fast as we can. 307 00:43:58.750 --> 00:44:00.750 Karen McElfresh: I see from Cynthia 308 00:44:01.880 --> 00:44:07.471 Karen McElfresh: magazine subscriptions. I'm not sure. Are you just saying that you would like to have magazine subscriptions? 309 00:44:08.070 --> 00:44:13.250 Karen McElfresh: If so, we can consider it. There's no plans to add them right now. But 310 00:44:13.350 --> 00:44:21.900 Karen McElfresh: any specifics about magazines that you want, if you know, for anybody, would be very helpful, or newspapers either one. 311 00:44:21.970 --> 00:44:23.219 Karen McElfresh: rather than just 312 00:44:23.510 --> 00:44:25.874 Karen McElfresh: so we'd get the right thing for people. 313 00:44:26.470 --> 00:44:30.539 Karen McElfresh: you can just. Or you can always email me that if you have any suggestions. 314 00:44:31.050 --> 00:44:44.540 Jesse Wilson: And Karen shameless plug! There we do as Baker and Taylor. We do offer press reader. Which has a ton of information there. You can always email me. I'll put it in the chat there for more information as well. 315 00:44:48.070 --> 00:44:50.409 Karen McElfresh: Okay? From 316 00:44:50.640 --> 00:44:53.860 Karen McElfresh: Stacy. Will you please repeat the dates? That SimplyE will be stopped. 317 00:44:54.209 --> 00:45:14.040 Karen McElfresh: So this is something I'm going to put the link back in the chat for the flyer, because I would recommend, even if you don't want to hand this out to people, I would look at it for yourself, because it does explain some things in a longer detail. So maybe you and your staff might find this useful as a reference, but it does explain the SimplyE timeframe. 318 00:45:14.510 --> 00:45:18.769 Karen McElfresh: so SimplyE will be available until October 31st 319 00:45:19.110 --> 00:45:35.679 Karen McElfresh: But on October 1st it's going to be very limited. It's not going to have all the full functionality that it does now. So on October first, the only thing that you'll be able to do in SimplyE is, continue reading or listening to a book that you have already checked out and downloaded. 320 00:45:36.080 --> 00:45:50.749 Karen McElfresh: So if anybody is in the middle of something, let's say they check out a book on September 25th And so they're still reading that book. They can finish their checkout. The book will go away whenever you know whatever 21 days is from when they checked it out. 321 00:45:50.850 --> 00:46:03.589 Karen McElfresh: but they will not be able to check out any new items in SimplyE. They won't be able to renew, or, you know, recheck out something if they don't finish it. It's just going to be kind of read. Only access for the month of October. 322 00:46:03.970 --> 00:46:12.789 Karen McElfresh: So if people can kind of wrap up what they're doing in SimplyE before the end of September, that's preferable. But if not. 323 00:46:12.870 --> 00:46:14.860 Karen McElfresh: it's it's not going to go away. 324 00:46:14.880 --> 00:46:25.039 Karen McElfresh: They should just make sure that they have the item downloaded in. SimplyE, if it's not downloaded, they're not going to be able to pull that download down. And 325 00:46:25.890 --> 00:46:32.650 Karen McElfresh: hopefully, that's not going to happen. If it does, we can figure out we can try to figure out what the best thing to do for them. But 326 00:46:33.676 --> 00:46:38.119 Karen McElfresh: yeah, so it should be up, for it will be up for the month of October as well. 327 00:46:40.610 --> 00:47:00.149 Karen McElfresh: Cynthia's asking, can patrons make a request for an item that is not listed? Yes, they can request materials. They can request them through you. So if a patron asks for an item that is not in the collection. You can just email that to me. And I'll put the email in here ebooks@tsl.texas.gov oops 328 00:47:00.860 --> 00:47:02.320 Karen McElfresh: missed the. 329 00:47:04.600 --> 00:47:14.979 Karen McElfresh: So what happens when you try to type and talk at the same time? You can email them to me, and I will consider it for the next purchase. That's that's really the method that we have right now for requesting items. 330 00:47:15.340 --> 00:47:30.605 Jesse Wilson: And also just as a reference. If the patrons use the feedback information in the app. And they say, Hey, we're interested in Xyz. That information will eventually get to Karen as well. So 331 00:47:31.210 --> 00:47:35.060 Jesse Wilson: Just in case you have patrons that said, hey? I requested something over the app 332 00:47:36.150 --> 00:47:38.110 Jesse Wilson: that goes to Karen as well. 333 00:47:39.807 --> 00:47:47.660 Karen McElfresh: So I think, Cynthia, I think we've already answered that about how long simply it will stay open again. It's through October 31st 334 00:47:48.225 --> 00:48:15.989 Karen McElfresh: Heidi is asking, How do we see what is available for purchase? Pretty much everything is available for purchase. But if you are interested in doing that you'll need to open an Unbound account, and then that would give you access to the purchasing system. It's called Title Source 360, which, if you already do print orders with Baker and Taylor, it's the same system. And then you'd be able to see. But just it's it's everything like the types of books that you see in the collection. 335 00:48:16.320 --> 00:48:22.209 Karen McElfresh: There's tons of stuff. I don't know, Jesse. Maybe you know the numbers of how many titles are available. 336 00:48:22.508 --> 00:48:30.269 Jesse Wilson: Last time I did a general search I will be honest with you. It was over like over a hundred thousand titles, and I stopped looking 337 00:48:30.350 --> 00:48:39.330 Jesse Wilson: at that point. Again, Heidi feel free. I put my email address in the chat, feel free to email me. And I can get you more information as well. 338 00:48:39.530 --> 00:48:45.220 Karen McElfresh: And that's actually the next question as well. Who do we contact to do unbound? That's Jesse. 339 00:48:45.650 --> 00:48:47.770 Karen McElfresh: yeah. And she can refer you to. 340 00:48:49.390 --> 00:49:06.540 Karen McElfresh: Yes, Becky, about doing a webinar. Yeah, that's possible that we could do something like that again. Right now. The focus is solely on getting this live and then, you know, Baker and Taylor can arrange a webinar for y'all about purchasing. If you would like to do that. 341 00:49:06.540 --> 00:49:07.480 Jesse Wilson: Absolutely. 342 00:49:07.730 --> 00:49:10.490 Karen McElfresh: Oh, did you want to say something else about that one? 343 00:49:10.490 --> 00:49:19.079 Jesse Wilson: No, I was, gonna say, and honestly, if you ever have any questions about anything that I've shown you, or just anything in general, please feel free to email me. I'm always here to help. 344 00:49:20.084 --> 00:49:28.570 Karen McElfresh: Okay. So Janelle's question, do we anticipate eread? Boundless to remain free? Yes. There's no plan to start charging. 345 00:49:28.980 --> 00:49:49.379 Karen McElfresh: There really never has been. I know this has come up throughout the years. If you've been in the program for a while, like we really never had any serious discussions about charging. What, for one thing, charging is actually really hard to do for the State Library. Collecting money from everybody is is hard. So it would have to be. 346 00:49:50.790 --> 00:49:55.149 Karen McElfresh: Yeah, there, you know. And right now we just we don't need to do that. The budget that we have 347 00:49:55.310 --> 00:50:03.990 Karen McElfresh: it's covered you know, but as far as, will it stay free forever, I can't guarantee that. That's just something that 348 00:50:04.560 --> 00:50:18.840 Karen McElfresh: you know. We only get our budget from the State, and then the Federal grants, you know. If something were to change with that money, then we might have to make changes. But we don't have any plans to do that, you know. 349 00:50:18.850 --> 00:50:26.370 Karen McElfresh: I think that would make it really hard for most of you to participate in the program. And I'm well aware of that. So it's it's not really on the table. 350 00:50:29.718 --> 00:50:35.839 Karen McElfresh: John asked, Do we have a video for patrons to watch and install and use the app. Jesse, is there a video? 351 00:50:36.770 --> 00:50:43.020 Jesse Wilson: There is not at this time, but I will talk to our marketing team and see if we can get something put together for you. 352 00:50:43.580 --> 00:50:55.889 Karen McElfresh: And the screen you're seeing right now. None of you need to just fill out this form. This is just for people who watch this later. So you don't need to fill this out. If you're here today I will know I will get your participation. So 353 00:50:56.556 --> 00:51:09.029 Karen McElfresh: yes, Jennifer, we did talk about this while you were away. Yes, we will be sending an email report. Details are still being finalized of that. But you will get minimal information checkouts and holds 354 00:51:09.080 --> 00:51:14.120 Karen McElfresh: once a month. Probably by the 5th of the month, just like you do with SimplyE. 355 00:51:14.779 --> 00:51:33.069 Karen McElfresh: Training, Mary to see Boundless from the patron side. That was session one. So if you did not see session one let me put the recording link back in the chat. You need to watch that one. But that was the patron app was the 1st session that we did last week, and the week before. 356 00:51:38.150 --> 00:51:42.110 Karen McElfresh: Sherry's asking, can we repeat the Admin password requirements. 357 00:51:42.110 --> 00:51:51.700 Jesse Wilson: And then password requirements. You want to make sure you have 8 characters, one uppercase, one lower case, and one symbol in that. 358 00:51:54.960 --> 00:52:00.890 Karen McElfresh: And then I think there was one question about requesting marketing materials in the chat. 359 00:52:00.960 --> 00:52:09.260 Karen McElfresh: So I'm going to put that it's on the slide when I talked about promotional materials. But I'll put the form link in the chat as well. I think that was from Sylvia. 360 00:52:09.440 --> 00:52:12.099 Karen McElfresh: So there is a form. You can request them. 361 00:52:12.110 --> 00:52:15.759 Karen McElfresh: but it's also on. I think it's maybe 2 more back. 362 00:52:17.507 --> 00:52:21.879 Karen McElfresh: The one before this. There we go. Yeah, it's in the middle of the slide as well. 363 00:52:23.450 --> 00:52:37.770 Karen McElfresh: so, Sue, the CE certificate is going to be emailed to you. You'll get a follow-up email from Zoom. That's like, thank you for watching the webinar. And the CE thing will be within that email. So you can just save that email as your CE certificate. 364 00:52:41.170 --> 00:52:44.616 Karen McElfresh: And then let me just look through the chat. 365 00:52:47.460 --> 00:52:49.230 Karen McElfresh: think we got everything? 366 00:52:50.740 --> 00:52:54.259 Karen McElfresh: Yeah, I think that's everything. So, and we are 367 00:52:54.340 --> 00:52:57.580 Karen McElfresh: just a few minutes ahead of the hour. So we're right on time. So. 368 00:52:58.310 --> 00:53:00.701 Karen McElfresh: but thank you, everybody for attending 369 00:53:01.250 --> 00:53:05.349 Karen McElfresh: and if you are coming to session 3, we will see you in a couple weeks. 370 00:53:05.560 --> 00:53:13.630 Jesse Wilson: Yeah, I'm very excited to work with everybody, and I am here to help, and I hope that we didn't flood your brain with too much information. 371 00:53:13.630 --> 00:53:13.970 Karen McElfresh: Thank you. 372 00:53:13.970 --> 00:53:19.969 Jesse Wilson: Day. Please make sure you do sign up for the customizations, because that's when things get really a lot of fun. 373 00:53:20.060 --> 00:53:21.839 Jesse Wilson: So have a great day. Everybody. 374 00:53:21.840 --> 00:53:23.449 Karen McElfresh: Alright! Thanks, everybody!
