On October 25, 2010 Michael Reagor arrived in Tyler, Texas for three days of training. While the other analysts stayed in Austin to present a two day workshop on Records Management Basics, Michael was in Tyler to provide two presentations on Emergency Preparedness for the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center’s (TMCEC) Municipal Judges and Clerks Seminars and to present a full day of training for the city of Tyler.
TMCEC’s Regional Judges Seminar was held October 25-27 and the three-hour pre-conference session on Disaster Preparedness for Court Records allowed us a chance to debut a modified version of our new Emergency Preparedness class tailored specifically to court records. Although the pre-conference was optional to attendees of the seminar, the importance of the topic still drew a sizable turnout.
The next day Michael presented a day of records management training to records liaisons from the City of Tyler at the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden Center. Topics for the training included Control Schedule Basics, Improving Filing Systems, Managing Electronic Records, and Disaster Planning. Wednesday drew to a close Michael’s three-day trip to Tyler with another pre-conference presentation on Disaster Preparedness for Court Records, this time to TMCEC’s Regional Clerks Seminar.
It was a tiring, but fulfilling three days and we would like to thank the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center and Cassandra Brager, City Clerk of Tyler, for inviting us to speak.
