Tim Nolan presented the Excellence in Records Management 2010 Award to Carol Stewart and Melanie Callahan in TWDB’s Financial Division
Looking for ways to trim your department’s budget? An important benefit of an effective records management program is the cost savings realized from timely records destruction and offsite storage. Tim Nolan, Records Manager at the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), targeted this aspect of records management by recognizing Records Liaisons for their successful disposition efforts.
Top honors went to Carol Stewart in TWDB’s Finance Division. Carol and her staff saved the agency over $3,700 by sending inactive records to offsite storage at the Texas State Records Center or by destroying records that had met their retention. The destruction of copies and reference materials prompted by an office move also contributed to total agency disposition savings of $30,000 for FY2010.
