Hi! My name is Andrew Glass and I’m part of the Records Management Assistance team with the State and Local Records Management division of the Texas State Library. My official start date with SLRM was in January of 2018, but I have been with the agency since August 2016, working with the Archives and Information Services Division.
I love RIM. In June 2020, I became a Certified Records Analyst. Much of my career has been with libraries or in education. I spent nearly 6 years with the University of Texas at Austin Libraries and I was a high school teacher in Corpus Christi, TX for 2 years teaching AP Government and AP Macroeconomics. In 2015, I received an MSIS from the University of Texas’ School of Information (I actually was a classmate of Megan Carey’s!)
I was born in California, but grew up in Corpus Christi, TX. Despite not being born here, I still identify as a sixth generation Texan. I’ve been able to trace the Glass clan back to the Texas Republic era and I don’t think one geographical mishap by my father can cheat me out of my heritage.
For fun, I like to ride my bicycle, watch movies or hang out at the Half Price Books on North Lamar.
If you are from the South-East region of Texas (or as I like to call it, the Texas Independence Trail region), I will be your point of contact. I look forward to working with you all!
