Hello! My name is Sarah Jacobson and I’m the Manager of the Records Management Assistance Unit. I manage a great group of Government Information Analysts that serve local governments and state agencies throughout the State of Texas. I joined TSLAC in January 2009 as a Government Information Analyst and was promoted to my current position in July 2011.
I often wonder how I ended up working in government and records management. Thinking back to my responses to the question “What do I want to be when I grow up?” government and records management never came to mind. But somehow I made it here, and I am enjoying what I do. The best part of my day is when I am able to address an issue or question that helps make someone’s job a little better.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin, where I majored in Anthropology. I also received my Master of Science in Information Studies from UT-Austin. In 2014, I became a Digital Archives Specialist.
