Training and Conferences

The mission of the Records Management Assistant Unit training program is to provide foundational records management training to local governments and state agencies. Face-to-face and online classes are designed to assist records management officers, elected officials, and other staff establish and administer efficient records management programs. The State Library provides 12 records retention schedules that can be adopted for use by local governments.

Records Storage

Local Governments are now allowed to take advantage of the State Record Center for cost-effective storage of their hard copy, microfilm, and microfiche records.

Imaging and Micrographics

The Imaging Services Department offers high quality micrographic services for long-term preservation of historic records.

Digital Imaging and Document Destruction

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Council on Competitive Government have negotiated contracts for Digital Imaging and Document Destruction to assist local governments in obtaining quality records management services.
