  • PDF handouts for taking notes
  • The webinar slides (PowerPoint)
  • Supplemental materials, if there are any -- for example, the "Improving Your Disposition Program" webinar now features a sample disposition log at the bottom of the course page.
  • An optional 5-question multiple-choice or true/false quiz to test your comprehension
  • An optional certificate of completion that includes the Credit Hours received. All webinars currently offer 1.0 Credit Hour.

Why do we require quizzes to receive certificates?

First, our online system allows us to add much more content to a webinar than we can offer on our static web pages.  Second, as a way to verify attendance.  Since we began offering webinars in 2010, we have received numerous requests for certificates of completion from attendees.  Our webinar system, GoToWebinar, does provide confirmations of attendance to all registered attendees, but no equivalent to the "Certificate of Completion" we issue to our face-to-face class attendees.  Also, because many of our webinars are screened to groups of people (e.g., in a conference room, with only one attendee actually registered), we were unable to track or confirm attendance for all actual attendees.  We faced a similar problem when we began offering our archived recordings for download from our web page in 2011 -- we received requests for certificates from people who watched the archived recordings, but we could not verify "attendance."

Why would you need or want a certificate of completion?

For some, the certificate documents an employee's continuing education efforts. For others, it represents verification of work time spent on viewing the webinar.  Some might be able to use the certificate for continuing education credits for a certificate course (such as the LGARA, or a certifying body). We offer the certificate for those who need it...whatever the reason.
