Free Online Courses for Records Managers
The State and Local Records Management Division offers all records managers the opportunity to take self-paced, online courses on a variety of records management topics through our Online Training site. Many of our offerings are archived webinars on topics ranging from digital preservation to managing email to disaster recovery, but we also offer several full-fledged courses on introductory topics.

Which am I? A state agency or a local government?
A state agency is defined as “any department, commission, board, office, or other agency in the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of state government created by the constitution or a statute of this state, including an eleemosynary institution; the Texas Municipal Retirement System and the Texas County and District Retirement System; and any public nonprofit corporation created by the legislature whose responsibilities and authority are not limited to a geographical area less than that of the state.”
