TexShare Database Fees for Public Libraries FY2014
TexShare collects $2.1 million in annual participation fees from member libraries. Of this total, 25% is collected from public libraries and 75% is collected from academic libraries and libraries of clinical medicine (LCMs).
For public libraries, the fee is computed using a weighted formula that combines each libraries' population served (30% of formula) and collection expenditures (70% of formula).
For academic libraries and LCMs, the fee is computed with a similar formula using undergraduate FTEs (30%) and collection expenditures (70%).
Each formula includes ceilings and floors for computed fees, as well as a cap to limit year-over-year fee increases. Database values listed below show the sum of vendor-provided prices for each library, without any group discounts.
The formulas are determined by the TexShare Cost Sharing Working Group and computed for each library by TexShare staff. For more information about the TexShare Database Program, please send an email to texshare@tsl.texas.gov.
