Limitations: Collin College checkout privileges are granted to TexShare card holders 18 and older. Borrowing privileges are limited to the check out of print materials in the Circulating Collection at campus locations. Two (2) items (books only) may be checked out at any one time. Further checkout is barred if items are overdue or fines are owed. Privileges do not include Interlibrary Loan services; access to computers or electronic resources; or checkout of Reserve materials including laptop computers, or books/items in the Reserve Collection.
Eligibility: TexShare borrowers may apply for borrowing privileges at Collin College by presenting a valid TexShare Card issued by their home institution, a current ID from the home institution and a photo ID such as a current driver’s license. The borrower must complete and sign a TexShare Borrower Agreement which outlines borrower responsibilities.
Hours: Check website for current information.
Card Availability: Borrowing privileges for TexShare Card holders are valid until the end of the current semester, Fall, Spring or Summer.
Renewals: No renewals.
Returns: Borrowers are responsible for returning all materials to Collin College libraries by due date. Items may be returned to any Collin College campus library.

Overdues: Borrowers will receive a courtesy overdue notice for any items not returned to the library by due date. However, the borrower is ultimately responsible for returning materials on time.
Recalls: No recalls
Non_Circ_Items: Reference materials, items on reserve, periodicals, microforms, computer software, videos, and sound recordings may not be checked out. Some subject areas may be restricted to Collin College due high demand; some of this material is identified as such on the item, and restrictions on other items are at the discretion of a Reference Librarian.
Loan Policies: Three week checkout. Material may not be renewed.
Fines: Fines and/or replacement and processing fees will be assessed for late or lost materials. Late fine: $.25/day for circulating books. Late fees are not charges on days the library is closed. Lost/damaged materials: Cost of book and $10.00 processing fee. In addition to Collin College fines, borrowers may also lose borrowing privileges and may be subject to penalties at their home institution.
Lost Items: An item is presumed lost if not returned after the final overdue notice – generally 6 weeks.
Billing: Fines assessed for late or lost materials may be paid in cash or by check at the Circulation Desk on each Collin campus or by mail. Payment by approved credit card is accepted during weekday hours the Bursar’s office is open after completing a form at the Circulation Desk.
