Navigator Q&A Session, January 28th – Recording

OCLC will host a live Q&A session on Webex next Thursday, January 28th, at 10:00 am CST.  Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of your Navigator implementation status.

Q&A Session, 10/22/15

OCLC will host a Navigator Q&A session on Thursday, October 22nd at 10:00 am CST.  The main topic of discussion will be an overview of extracting and sending in files for batchload.   Attendees will also be given time at the end of the discussion to ask any questions they may have regarding Navigator.  All are welcome.

Q&A Session, June 24th

The next Navigator Q&A session is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24th.

There will be a brief overview of how to set up an Online Service Account with OCLC and how to complete the Bibliographic Batchload order form.  If your library is at the batchload step of Navigator implementation, this will come in handy!  There will also be time for questions.

2014 Interlibrary Loan Lending Reimbursement Program

The State Library will once again be reimbursing Texas academic and public libraries for loaning materials to other Texas public libraries using the Navigator system. In response to concerns about the out-of-pocket shipping costs associated with participating in statewide resource sharing, all lends made to Texas libraries on the Navigator system will be reimbursed this year, not just net lends. For Navigator libraries, the State Library will reimburse $2.00 for each loan made to a Texas public library.  The State Library will reimburse Navigator libraries $5.00 for each net loan made to another Texas public library. Net loans are calculated by subtracting the number of items a library has borrowed from the number of items a library has lent. For large academic libraries, the State Library will reimburse $9.00 for each loan made to a Texas public library using the Navigator system. While these amounts are dependent on funds available at the end of the fiscal year, we believe we will be able to provide the reimbursement amounts listed above.

All reimbursement funds will be dispersed electronically. To be eligible for an electronic funds transfer for an ILL lending reimbursement, your library’s legal entity must complete, sign and return the Texas Application for Payee Identification (TINS) and the Direct Deposit Authorization (DD) forms by August 15, 2014. We hope this change will help encourage libraries to participate in the interlibrary loan program and support resource sharing for all Texans.
