In July 2012, EBSCO will be introducing global virtual servers. The purpose of adding these new EBSCOhost access points is to improve response times for EBSCOhost users. This means that all customers who use firewalls or proxy servers that require URLs to allow end user access will need to update their exception lists and/or configuration files with the details below. Please update the URLs and IPs in your firewall or proxy anytime before June 30, 2012.
The following IP addresses, URLs and domain MUST be added to your firewall exception list/configuration file to ensure uninterrupted connectivity. These changes will become effective in July 2012, however we urge you to add the IP addresses/URLs as soon as possible.

Important note for EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and EBSCOhost Integrated Search users:
Customers of EBSCO Discovery Service and EBSCOhost Integrated Search are asked to make additional changes, while adding the new IP addresses to firewall exception lists. It is important that you add the following URLs to your firewall exception lists:
Please Note: If you do not add these IP addresses to your firewall exception list, your users may not be able to access EBSCOhost, once these changes have been implemented.
There are some other important aspects to this update, as follows:
