TexShare contracts with vendors to provide a number of specialized databases and journals at negotiated subscription fees that are usually less than member libraries would pay if they subscribed to these databases individually. TexShare member libraries are eligible to subscribe at these reduced fees. Check the TexSelect databases listed by vendor and click on the vendor and/or sales contacts links. Be sure to mention the TexShare name and TexShare consortium when contacting vendors.

TexShare member libraries may also form their own consortia or join existing consortiums shown on this page.

  • OCLC WorldCat Local

WorldCat Local simplifies the discovery-and-delivery experience by letting your library users find what they want, when and where they want it. No more looking for different kinds of library resources using different interfaces, or even thinking about your services as separate systems. The WorldCat Local search box seamlessly connects users to everything in your collection, including physical and electronic books and journals; licensed content from a growing number of content providers; digital media; open-access article full text; special collections; digital objects; and more.

And because WorldCat Local integrates with your live circulation data, users know immediately whether an item is available. Your users are presented the best available "get it" options within the item record, and shelf location, call number and status are displayed for all physical copies across branches and/or consortial partners. One click lets an authorized user view an electronic copy or place a hold or resource-sharing request.

Download the WorldCat Local FAQ.

OCLC has provided TSLAC with custom pricing for TexShare libraries interested in purchasing WorldCat Local. Please contact OCLC at 1-800-848-5878 for pricing and further information.
