Texas State Library and Archives Commission Agenda

The Library and Archives Commission may deliberate on and/or take action on any of the following agenda items.

The commission may go into executive session on any agenda item, as authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Gov't Code Chapter 551.


  1. Approve minutes of February 10-11, 2014 Commission meeting.
  2. Public Comment.
  3. Introductions and general announcements.
  4. Conflict of interest disclosures.
  5. Review of consent agenda: non-substantive corrections in other agenda items such as spelling, numbering, punctuation, grammar, or other revisions.
  6. Report from the Ad Hoc Committee on the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center.
  7. Review and approve Audit Committee recommendations regarding the Internal Audit of Information Resources Technologies.
  8. Review and approve acceptance of grants, and gifts greater than $500.
  9. Review and approve contracts greater than $100,000, and contract renewals.
  10. Authorization to propose rule review of Chapter 9 (Talking Book Program).
  11. Review and approve staff recommendations regarding Talking Book Program automation.
  12. Report on pilot project managing archival state electronic records.
  13. Review and approve requests to add additional capital budget projects.
  14. Report of the Director and Librarian: may include information or updates on agency programs (Talking Book, Library Resource Sharing, Library Development, Information Resources Technol¬ogies, State and Local Records Management, Archives & Information Services, Administrative Services, and Communica¬tions Office). Also includes key meetings and activities, other reports, Friends of Libraries & Archives of Texas, dashboard metrics, and the status of other new or ongoing issues.
  15. Review preliminary draft of the Agency Strategic Plan for 2015-2019.
  16. Preliminary discussion of the Legislative Appropriations Request for 2016-2017.
  17. Report on agency financial information.
  18. Review and approve the FY 2015 fee schedules related to State & Local Records Management Division records storage and imaging services.
  19. Executive session, as authorized by Texas Government Code §551.071, §551.074, and §551.076, regarding consultations with attorney, personnel matters, and security devices respectively.
