Public Information Request

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission provides access to our archival holdings and our library collections as a normal course of business. Visit the Archives & Manuscripts webpage to search our collections. Contact our Reference Desk for research assistance.

The Public Information Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 552, gives you the right to request access to government records. Donna Osborne is the contact for all requests made to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. All Public Information requests must be made in writing. Please enter your request on this web form or write to the physical address at the bottom of this form.

PLEASE NOTE: TSLAC CANNOT PROVIDE ACCESS TO CURRENT RECORDS OF OTHER STATE AGENCIES, such as the Department of Criminal Justice, Department of Corrections, Department of Transportation and Department of Public Safety, for instance. Our archival holdings of other state agency records are historical records. If you are looking for current or recent records, you must contact the agency creating the records directly. Additionally, if you are looking for county or city records (such as deeds, birth certificates or similar) contact your local government office.

Types of Information Request
