The Library and Archives Commission may deliberate on and/or take action on any of the following agenda items.

The commission may go into executive session on any agenda item, as authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Gov't Code Chapter 551.

  1. Approve minutes of April 8, 2014 Audit Committee and Commission meetings.
  2. Public Comment.
  3. Introductions and general announcements.
  4. Conflict of interest disclosures.
  5. Review of consent agenda: non-substantive corrections in other agenda items such as spelling, numbering, punctuation, grammar, or other revisions.
  6. Consideration of commemorative resolutions.
  7. Employee of the Quarter introductions.
  8. Review and approve Audit Committee recommendations regarding the Internal Audit of Fixed Assets Management.
  9. Review and approve acceptance of grants, and gifts greater than $500.
  10. Review and approve contracts greater than $100,000, and contract renewals.
  11. Report from the Ad Hoc Committee on the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center.
  12. Review and approve Memorandum of Understanding with the Friends of Libraries and Archives of Texas and the Atascosito Historical Society.
  13. Discuss and approve the Agency Strategic Plan for FY 2015-2019.
  14. Discuss preparation of the Legislative Appropriations Request for FY 2016-2017.
  15. Report on status of Talking Book Program automation project.
  16. Review of draft Maintenance of Effort Waiver Request.
  17. Report of the Director and Librarian: may include information or updates on agency programs (Talking Book, Library Resource Sharing, Library Development, Information Resources Technol¬ogies, State and Local Records Management, Archives & Information Services, Administrative Services, and Communications Office). Includes key meetings and activities, Friends of Libraries & Archives of Texas, and the status of other new or ongoing issues.
  18. Authorization to propose repeal of rules 13 TAC 3.1-3.13 regarding standards for the State Publications Depository Program.
  19. Authorization to propose new rules 13 TAC 3.1-3.8 regarding standards for the State Publications Depository Program.
  20. Authorization to propose amended rules 13 TAC 6.3, 6.4, 6.6, 6.10 regarding submission of records retention schedules for recertification.
  21. Authorization to propose amendments to 13 TAC 7.125(a)(10), regarding local government records retention schedules: EL (Records of Elections and Voter Registration).
  22. Report on agency financial information.
  23. Executive session, as authorized by Texas Government Code §551.071, §551.074, and §551.076, regarding consultations with attorney, personnel matters, and security devices respectively.
