A Key to the Battle of Buena Vista Image:

Description:
A birds eye view of the battle, which took place on February 22- 23, 1847, between U.S. troops commanded by General Zachary Taylor and Mexican troops commanded by Santa Anna. The battle was fought just south of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. Shows positions and names of specific regiments, dragoons, batteries, and individual horsemen. It also shows the position of enemy infantry, battery, and calvary troops. Topographic features shown include mountains, gullies, and ravines. Personalities shown include General's Taylor, Harden, Lane, and Wood. A small section of the map is missing. 4/9/82
