Description:
This document contains two maps of land in Nueces and Kleburg Counties, Texas. The larger map covers land situated west of Corpus Christi Bay and Nueces Bay, and north of the Cayo del Oso, also known as the Villarreal tract. It is part of the Spanish land grant to Henry Villarreal and was owned at the time of this map by H.L. Kinney. Shows towns, ranches, forks of the Nueces River, the aforementioned bays, and the Caya de Oso. A translation of the title of the smaller map - (A small corner of Corpus Christi or corner of bear of the the south). This is a copy of a map dating back to 1820-35, when this area of Texas was part of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The land covered seems to be part of the Spanish land grant of 10 leagues to Ramon de Ynojosa. It is situated between the Cayo del Oso and the Laguna Madre. This map is in Spanish. A deed dealing with the payment of taxes on the land in this map accompanies the larger map. Photostats.
Size: large map - 35 cm x 21 cm; small map - 12 cm x 20 cm.
