[Title, cont.] ... with a Part of New Mexico and the Province of Texas Shows rivers, mountainous areas, towns and settlements (giving population of some), routes and trails, route of Pike's expedition, Spanish and American camps, stockades, limits of surveys, and forts. There are notes regarding wildlife and topography. Long. 26 - 38 deg. This map is published in Account of Expeditions to the Sources of the Mississippi and through the Western Parts of Louisiana, to the Sources of the Arkansaw, Kans., La Platte and Pierre Juan Rivers; Performed by the order of the Government of the United States during the years 1805, 1806, and 1807, and a Tour through the Interior Parts of New Spain, When Conducted Through These Provinces, by order of the Captain - General in the year 1807, by Major Zebulon Montgomery Pike (Philadephia, 1810), plate II. Maps 1436, 1438 and 1454 are also part of this series of maps found in the book. 1/10/83
