Description:
Shows bays, rivers, creeks, lakes, mountainous areas, islands, canyons, counties, cities, towns, highways, roads, mileage between points, state and national parks and forests, battlegrounds, missions, ruins of forts, the Old San Antonio Road, the Butterfield Overland Stage route, military bases, the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, tourist information offices, and the Intracoastal Canal. A key to cities and towns, a list of state parks and forests, and insets showing distances between major Texas cities are given. Insets of the following cities are given, showing major routes in and out of the city, and other features such as airports, military bases, colleges, and public buildings: Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Waco, El Paso, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, Fort Worth-Dallas area, Tyler-Marshall area, Houston-Galveston area. The reverse side contains pictures of people and places from across the state, general information about the state, a mileage chart of major U.S., Mexican, and Texas cities, a map of the United States showing major highways, pictures of tourist attractions in Mexico, and a map of Mexico highlighting such areas, Earlier editions are 6183-6210, later editions are 6212-6242.
