Description:
Series Title : Proposed OCS Sale 58A, Visual No. 4 Covers an area extending from Mobile Bay to the Texas-Mexico border, focusing on the Gulf of Mexico. County boundaries and major cities are shown along the coast. The Gulf is divided into grids, representing potential tracts available for oil and gas leases. These leases were offered by the Department of the Interior, based on the Outer Continental Shelf Land Act of 1953. This map shows offshore platforms, reported shipwrecks, and remnant coastal banks. Features shown on the coast include national and state parks and wildlife areas, archaeological sites, marine fishing piers, and recreational beaches. See accompanying pamphlet for information about this sale, and the overlay grid map to determine the tracts available for lease. Both can be found under map # 6497. Maps 6498-6500, 6502-6508 comprise the other maps in this series. Long. 88 deg. - 97 deg. Published in Proposed 1979 Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Lease Sale 58A. Western and Central Gulf of Mexico, volume 2. U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Mangement. 7/30/86
