Description:
Covers the Texas Panhandle. Shows rivers, creeks, lakes, counties, railroads--operating and proposed, routes and trails, and the Capitol Company's lands, which became the XIT Ranch. Accompanying this map are parts of other maps, focusing on the panhandle and south plains section of West Texas, dating from 1746-1975. Also present is a map of the United States, showing the Capitol Company's holdings in Texas. Accompanying narrative text can be found in the manuscript collection, Old Maps of the Southwest Collection. Long. 100 - 103 deg. 20 sheets, of varying measurements.
