[Publisher, cont.] ... by Lt. W.H. Warner & Mr. Norman Bestor. Made in 1846-47 with the advance guard of the "Army of the West". Covers parts of Missouri, Arkansas, West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Shows rivers, creeks, mountains, towns, mines, wagon routes, military routes--giving dates and names of leaders, forts, camps along the routes with dates given, water holes, and Indian tribes and villages. Tables: 1) Barometric Profile of the Route from Fort Leavenworth to Camp of October 14th, the last station on the Rio del Norte; 2) Barometric Profile of the Route from the Rio del Norte and San Diego on the Pacific; 3) Table of Geographic Positions on the routes pursued by the Army of the West. This is a reproduction. Accompanying narrative text is in the manuscript collection, Old Maps of the Southwest Collection. See map 7079 for the 1857 Emory map.
