Archives and Information Services Division

The Archives and Information Services (ARIS) division oversees the research rooms of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Those areas include the Reference Reading Room and the Texas State Archives Reading Room.

Reference services:

  • Assistance using library materials in the Reference Reading Room and archival materials in the Archives Reading Room as staff time permits.

Resources in the research rooms:

  • Public computer workstations with Windows 10 accessibility features
  • One laptop with OpenBook software and PEARL portable magnifier and reading camera
  • One workstation with JAWS screen reader software in the Reference Reading Room
  • One KIC Sprout overhead book and document scanner in the Reference Reading Room
  • Two ScannX overhead book and document scanners in the Archives Reading Room
