A Fashionable Woman, circa 1920

A fashionable woman

The fashionable woman of 1920 presented many contrasts with her 19th century counterpart. The simpler silhouette revealed much more of the body and offered women freedom from corsets and elaborate styles that restricted her movement. Bobbed hair also represented a startling departure from the elaborate and carefully dressed long-hair styles of earlier years.
