The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) seeks proposals for a fully-delivered, turn-key renovation of a museum space and reception area (Project) at the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center (Center), located at 650 FM 1011, Liberty, Texas. Renovations must be compliant with ADA requirements.

The Project will include the following: a completed, turn-key exhibit space with all furnishings, displays, and signage (including a plan for lighting and ventilation that TSLAC will contract separately to implement); and, a permanent, static exhibit that tells the history of the area and is designed with a plan to rotate original items.

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is seeking responses from qualified vendors to this solicitation for one (1) qualified vendor with the appropriate experience and/or skill to plan, develop and conduct the following:

  • Design, develop and deliver a maximum of ten (10) half-day workshops (Workshops) with 3 hours of instruction on the topic of training librarians and literacy providers to provide digital literacy training. Workshops to be delivered at ten (10) specific locations in Texas. The Workshops will be delivered between January 1, 2017 and May 31, 2017. The target audiences for the Workshops are public and academic librarians and adult literacy providers.
  • Deliver up to ten (10) one-on-one coaching sessions at local libraries or literacy provider locations, upon request of the library or literacy provider (more may be negotiated upon mutual agreement).
  • Develop and deliver up to 10 hour-long conference sessions, using content adapted from the Workshops, at Literacy Texas symposiums and/or literacy or library conferences across Texas.

The Awarded Vendor will develop Workshop course content using a digital literacy curriculum and toolkit developed by TSLAC. An earlier version of this toolkit, which is under redevelopment and will be completed on or before November 15, may be reviewed at https://www.tsl.texas.gov/ld/teal/libresources.html. The Awarded Vendor will have access to the toolkit as it is being revised.

Workshops are intended to be full-day events, with Awarded Vendor delivering digital literacy course content in the morning, and other providers delivering course content on other topics in the afternoon. 

All materials developed under this RFP will become property of TSLAC.

306-17-8216 910-38 The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is seeking responses from qualified contractors to this solicitation for one (1) qualified contractor with the appropriate experience, licensing and skill to plan, develop and conduct all aspects of the Asbestos Abatement project as covered in Section 2 of this document. The Asbestos Abatement project is for TSLAC’s location of The Sam Houston Regional Library & Research Center (SHC), which is located at 650 FM 1011, Liberty, TX 77575. It was determined in 2012, during a Limited Building Material Survey for the presence of ACBM, that the flooring tiles black mastic adhesive tested positive for asbestos content of greater than one percent (>1%). The target area for this project is the ground floor Break Room and the Hallway that provides Break Room access. The target area is approximately 530 square feet. Please note that this is only an approximation. The square footage must be obtained by the Potential Vendor at the time of their site visit. The Sam Houston Center is a gated and locked facility. Public hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST, Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm CST. Work can be scheduled to include Mondays (Section 2.1). Design, develop and deliver 1.5 hours of instruction on the topic of partnership development and facilitation at a maximum of ten (10) presentations (Workshops). b. Workshops to be delivered at ten (10) specific locations in Texas. c. The Workshops will be delivered between January 1, 2017 and May 31, 2017. d. The target audiences for the Workshops are public and academic librarians and adult literacy providers, with the goal of encouraging partnership development between libraries and adult literacy providers. Workshops will be full-day events, with Awarded Vendor under this RFP delivering only the partnership content in the afternoon. Other course content will be delivered by other presenters in the morning and early afternoon. Awarded Vendor is not required to be present for the full event.
