The Continuing Education and Consulting (CEC) team provides support and professional development to Texas library staff. CEC believes in the value of libraries to transform their communities and in the value of learning to create change.
Announcing a New Learning Management System (LMS)
We are excited to announce a new platform for engaging with continuing education from TSLAC. Through this new platform, library workers across the state will have access to archived webinars, courses, and cohorts to support and enhance their service to their communities.
Making a TSLAC Learning Account
To get started in the TSLAC Learning LMS, complete the following steps:
Anyone in the library field is welcome, however some resources and online courses may have a Texas focus or may be restricted to Texas library workers. Additionally, some resources and online courses may be intended for recipients of our grants.
Yes, you will need a unique user account. This will ensure that you receive personalized completion certificates for any online courses that you complete. It will also ensure that you can track your progress within courses.
To earn a completion certificate for courses, log in with your user account and ensure that you are enrolled in those courses before completing any course activities. Once you reach the end of a course, you should see a link to view your certificate if you have satisfied all course completion requirements. Course completion certificates will list the name of the course, your name, the date you received the certificate, and the number of CE (continuing education) hours earned. Please note that CE hours correspond to the estimated number of contact hours spent completing the activity and are not the same as CEUs. All CE hours earned through courses completed on this site are recognized by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission as counting toward the yearly continuing education requirement for accreditation of Texas public libraries. It is your responsibility to check with your governing body or employer to ensure that these CE hours will count toward any other continuing education or professional development requirements.

If you know your username but not your password, please click on “Forgot Password” below the Login box to change your password and access the site. If you forgot both, we can retrieve your username, but not your password.
