Dear Nathan Hale,
Hi, my name is Samuel Webb, and I absolutely love your Hazardous Tales book series. You are a great writer and your work has inspired many things in my life. I thank you greatly for that.
After reading your books, I have a new found love for military history. I love the war books because they are exciting! Now when I’m bored, I can go into my room and read a book instead of laying down on the couch and watching some TV. It’s a very big improvement for me.
Your books inspired my friend and I to start a company we named R.S. Industries. At first, we wrote books about military history, but then we wrote some other books about superheroes and fantasy worlds. It is a fun business to run even when my friend and I have heated debates about which is better: Super Dude or George. Those are both characters that we made up, not official comic book characters or anything like that.
The military books you have written even changed my plans for the future. I have decided to go to West Point and graduate straight into the U.S. Army and become a military commander just like my grandfather who was a Major. He also went to West Point. I enjoy learning about the weapons, uniforms, battles, and wars throughout history. I think I know too much because people at school call me “Mr. History.” Not that I hate it, it is just really funny to me. Also, when I finish one of your books, I just have to find more books on the subject to read. My absolute favorite book of yours is Treaties, Trenches, Mud, and Blood. Many people know about World War 2, but World War1 just isn’t as well known to many people.
Your books have inspired me to read a lot more. Reading is one of my greatest hobbies and something I never will let go of. It is now as if reading is part of me. I want to say that reading is now my greatest hobby, but I do like a few other things above reading. Reading is in 2nd place for me, with airsoft just above it in 1st place.
I always feel like I am the spy Nathan Hale because the way Hangman and the Provost treat him is a lot like how I am treated by my siblings. They are very rude to me and it gets on my nerves a lot. The Hangman, that guy gets me. He’s REALLY funny, and for some reason, he LOVES sandwiches. I love sandwiches too, just not nearly as much as Hangman does. Oh, I have one more quick story. When I was about 2 years old, YOU came to my siblings’ school in Houston. I wish I would have been old enough to understand what you were talking about and drawing. That really would have been cool to have that experience.
I truly do love your work and what it has inspired me to do. I thank you for that very much. I hope you can keep writing and publish more wonderful books.
Sincerely,
Samuel Webb
