Hardin Papers
Calendar of the Atascosito District Archives, 1826-1836
Donated in 1983 by the Hardin family, these records are located at the Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center in Liberty, Texas. The series is largely composed of decrees received by the Municipality of Liberty and the majority of the documents are written in Spanish.
Arranged chronologically, each manuscript was assigned a distinct number. If an English translation or transcription was available, it was assigned the same number, followed by the letter "T." Many of the translations are from H.P.N. Gammel's The Laws of Texas and are available on the Web site of the University of North Texas at http://texinfo.library.unt.edu/lawsoftexas/.
The Hardin Papers have been microfilmed by the Clayton Library Friends and are available to be borrowed by researchers through the interlibrary loan network. When requesting microfilm, please provide your library with the OCLC number. This specialized number, OCLC #59226017, will help your library identify the title you wish to borrow. Specific regulations for interlibrary loan vary by individual library, so please contact your local library for details.
The documents appear on the microfilm in the order shown below.
