Library Media Kit

TSLAC will provide a media kit and additional resources to libraries participating in the Texas America250 Reading Challenge. Stay tuned as components are added.

Texas America250 Libraries

Texans are invited to join TSLAC’s statewide Texas America250 Reading Challenge. Materials for the challenge, including a printable reading map and passport, posters, bookmarks, contest rules, and more will be posted on this site in early 2026.

We have also compiled historical records from the State Archives, alongside resources from our extensive library collections, the E-Read Texas e-book program, the Talking Book Program and the Texas Center for the Book, to encourage all Americans to explore the story of the Lone Star State over the past 250 years. From Spanish missions to the space race, the landscape, culture, economy, and people of Texas have played essential roles in the development of the United States. These resources will also appear on this page soon.

We are also accepting applications for free Texas America250 traveling exhibits, consisting of several pop-up standing banners displaying images of Texas Treasures from the State Archives, with descriptive text suitable for visitors of all ages. See the Traveling Exhibits page for more information about how to apply to be an exhibit host.

TSLAC is proud to work alongside the Office of the Governor, Economic Development and Tourism Office; the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission; the State Board of Education; and the Bullock Texas State History Museum on the Texas America250 Commission.
