Description:
Sketches of skirmishes fought in Virginia and West Virginia. Shows rivers, creeks, terrain, towns, houses and other buildings, roads, railroads, routes of Confederate troops, and Union and Confederate lines, troops, and artillery. There are 36 sketches. This map is part of the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies, compiled by Captain Calvin D. Cowles, Government Printing Office, Washington, 1891-1895, plate LXXXV. Title page, table of contents, and index to maps in the atlas are filed under map #3209. A reprint of this atlas can be found in the Archive's Texana book collection. 36 drawings, the largest being 11 cm x 9 cm. 11/21/84
