Extract of Letter from Mr
Thompson to Mr Peyton.  

“Whereupon another officer,
named ______ received orders
to proceed to the place where
the prisoners were, and to shoot
them all[.] As soon as I heard
this, I took very strong measures
to procure the revocation of this
order in which Mr Packenham
warmly cooperated.”
