John Connally as a young man

John Bowden Connally, Jr. was born near Floresville into a family of eight children. He was a star student at the University of Texas, becoming president of the student body in 1938. He graduated from UT law school in 1941. At that time, he had already been serving as an aide to Representative Lyndon Johnson for two years. At this time, he earned a reputation as "Lyndon's boy."
