Sam Houston Center to Close for Renovations, Jan. 22-29

Liberty, TX – The Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center has announced that it will be closed to the public Jan. 22 – 29, 2024, as the facilities undergo renovations. The Center is scheduled to reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Limited renovations will be made to the Center’s main building, including cabinet and flooring installation, painting and upgrades to the break room and hallways. Patrons are encouraged to browse the Sam Houston Center’s online resources, including its website, www.tsl.texas.gov/shc, which includ

The Archival Award of Excellence (Institutional) has been awarded to the William J. Hill Texas Artisans and Artists Archive. AUSTIN, TX – The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has announced a new web page featuring the official legislatively-designed State Symbols of Texas. The new site, accessible at www.tsl.texas.gov/statesymbols, features each official state symbol with a photograph and citation of the relevant resolution from the Texas Legislature.
