Materials ordering for Summer 2026 will begin in the fall of 2025.

Why did the ordering process for materials change?

In 2025, TSLAC implemented a budget per library for the amount that could be covered by TSLAC in order to provide materials to as many libraries as possible. This allowed us to increase the number of eligible libraries to order by 27%.
 

For Summer 2026, the ordering process will continue to be as follows:

1. Each public library or library system will be contacted to opt in to participate in CSLP ordering, and designate a point of contact.
2. Each library system will place one order for the whole system.
3. Each library or library system will be assigned a budget for how much TSLAC can cover for allowable materials. As always, libraries are welcome to order additional materials and will be invoiced for the balance.
    

A formula was calculated to distribute funds as fairly as possible taking into account need, number of locations, and population served. Every attempt to keep shipping no more than a quarter of the costs was made.

Does my library's budget include shipping?

Yes, it does so plan your order accordingly. Shipping is calculated on the subtotal of the order. So for a budget of $160, shipping would be $35. You could add $125 worth of materials to your cart, calculate the shipping which would be $35, to reach your total budget of $160.

What if I want to get materials that are not in the Texas LSTA Allowable Store?

As these materials are provided with funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services so can therefore only include allowable items. TSLAC can only cover the costs for items found in the Texas LSTA Allowable Store. As always, libraries are welcome to order more than the budget will cover and items that are not LSTA allowable. However, be prepared for your library to get an invoice that will cover any balances.

What if I want to purchase LSTA Allowable materials in an amount that goes beyond my allotted budget?

You are able to purchase more materials than TSLAC can cover as long as the total does not push to the next shipping tier. You will be invoiced for the balance. For instance, if your library has a budget of $125, your order of LSTA allowable items only could have a total of $198 (including shipping). TSLAC will pay for $125 and you will be sent an invoice for $73.
