   not hard that he with

no one dependant on

him for bread is so favor-

ed by fortune — while my

little ones — may go

hungry to bed —

            My God — if I

had but heeded your

suggestions years ago

and gone to a city

while I had the means[.]

            Pardon me for all

this private trouble but

I am desperate and

know not what else to

do[.]
