Mr. H. A. McArdle

Independence, Texas.

My dear Sir:

            Referring to Mr. Ryan's letter of

Sept. 12th last, to yourself relating to

the disposition made of the arms,

uniforms etc used by the Mexican

troops at the battle of San Jacinto

in 1836, I have just been informed

through the Mexican Foreign Office, by

the War Department of this Republic,

that there is no record whatsoever

in the War Department of such arms

munitions etc.
