The Texas State Library and Archives Commission is charged under Texas Government Code Chapter 441.006(a)(9)This image indicates that this link goes out to the Texas Secretary of State state seal web page on their websiteto “prepare and make available to the public a complete list of every state symbol and place designation.” 

The following list represents place designations that have been officially adopted by the Texas Legislature through the 89th Regular Legislative Session (2025). Under Texas Government Code Chapter 391.003(e),This image indicates that this link goes out to the Texas Secretary of State state seal web page on their website capital designations expire after 10 years. The 10-year expiration does not apply to resolutions approved before September 1, 2001.
