According to MUNOZ, MANUEL, from the The Handbook of Texas Online, Elguezabal became interim governor in 1797 because Munoz was ill, and continued in this post following Munoz' death in July of 1799.

According to CASAS REVOLT, from The Handbook of Texas Online, On January 22, 1811 Juan Bautista de las Casas and his supporters arrested Governor Manuel Salcedo. The revolutionary government later appointed him ad interim governor of Texas. Casas' government was overthrown in March of 1811, and Salcedo returned to power.

According to ROBINSON, JAMES W., from The Handbook of Texas Online, "The executive council of the provisional government deposed Governor Henry Smith on January 11, 1836, and named Robinson as his successor. Smith, claiming that there was no quorum present when he was deposed, refused to relinquish the office, and as a result both Smith and Robinson claimed to be governor"
