Using a TexShare Card:
The UTSA Libraries accept TexShare Cards from participating institutions. This allows members of public libraries, as well as students, staff, and faculty from Texas colleges and universities, to borrow materials in person. TexShare borrowers can apply online through our website or in person at our library locations. If applying online, please visit https://lib.utsa.edu/services/for-visitors-alumni, click the 'Submit A Guest Borrower Application' button, and follow the required steps on the application. Please allow 2 to 3 business days for the application to be processed. If applying in person, please register to activate a card at least 30 minutes before the front desk closes. The expiration date on the TexShare card will match the expiration date of the user's UTSA account.
Loan Policies:
UTSA has a five-item limit for visitors. Items may be borrowed for four weeks at a time, with one allowed renewal by phone, email, or in person. The following collections must be used in the library: Juvenile Literature, Curriculum Materials, and Audio/Visual Materials. The following services are NOT available to TexShare borrowers: Interlibrary Borrowing Services, online access to databases, library instruction space use, study room reservations, tech gear, and materials courier service between the Downtown and Main campuses.
