In order to obtain a TexShare Card from Fort Bend County Libraries, patrons must be 18 years or older, a Fort Bend County resident and must be a Fort Bend County Libraries registered cardholder for six (6) months, in good standing, without overdue items, fines, or fees over the allowed limit, and without items in Claims Returned status. The patron must present their valid government-issued photo ID with proof of current residence address, if not shown on the ID. Visiting TexShare cardholders may also apply for borrowing privileges at any Fort Bend County library by presenting a valid TexShare card and a valid government issued photo id with proof of current address.

All Fort Bend County Libraries branches accept TexShare Cards from other Texas libraries. Adult Residents of Texas who present a TexShare card will then be asked to apply for a full-service card at any branch location. Staff at the Circulation desk will process the application. Applicants must show their valid government issued photo ID with proof of current residence if not shown on the ID.

All circulating items are loaned for three weeks. One renewal for three weeks is permitted if there is no hold on that item. Borrowers cannot check out any additional items if there are overdue items on the card or if accrued fines/fees exceed $5.00. Restrictions: Electronic devices may only be checked out to residents of Fort Bend County. Reference, current periodicals, microfilm/microfiche, Law Library holdings and Genealogy materials do not circulate to anyone.
