To obtain a TexShare card to use at another library, the customer must be: 1) a registered Seguin Public Library cardholder for a minimum of three (3) months; 2) sixteen (16) years or older; and 3) must be in good standing without any overdue items, fines or fees. TexShare cards are valid for one (1) year.

To obtain a Seguin Public Library card, TexShare cardholders from other libraries must provide the following information: 1) a valid TexShare card from the customer's home library issued in the customer's name; 2).a current photo ID - such as a Texas driver's license or ID or, if the customer is under the age of 16, a parent or legal guardian's current photo ID; and 3) documentation showing a permanent physical address, if the applicant's address is different from the address on the photo ID. Post office boxes will not be accepted as proof of residency. Seguin Public Library cards issued to TexShare cardholders under the age of sixteen (16) must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. TexShare borrowers meeting these requirements will be issued a Seguin Public Library card with the same expiration date shown on the TexShare card issued by their home library or for one (1) year, whichever date is earlier.

TexShare card holders may check out materials from the library's print, audiovisual, and digital collections, as well as access the library's online resources. TexShare cardholders may not request interlibrary loans or check out the library's mobile Wi-Fi devices, library of things materials, Genealogy materials, or Reference materials. All other circulation policies (such as item limits, checkout periods, etc.) and library services are identical to the policies for local cardholders.
