Obtaining a TexShare Card:
If you are a current SAPL Member and would like to get a TexShare Card, please visit any one of our San Antonio Public Library locations for assistance. Your current SAPL card must be active and in good standing (no payment plans). You must also present a valid photo ID and address verification. If your current residence is not on your photo ID, you may use a postmarked piece of mail that shows your name and current residence.
Using a TexShare Card:
If you would like to use a TexShare Card to become a SAPL Member, please visit one of our San Antonio Public Library locations with a valid photo ID and current TexShare Card from your home library. If your current ID does not have your current residence, please provide current address verification by providing a postmarked piece of mail. Your name must appear on the piece of mail. The expiration date of your new SAPL Card will coincide with the expiration date on your TexShare Card, not to exceed one year from date issued.
Loan Policies:
Checking Out Materials: TexShare patrons may have up to five (5) physical items (books, audiobooks, magazines, etc.) checked out at one time. TexShare borrowing privileges do not include remote access to electronic databases, eBooks, or participation in InterLibrary Loan (ILL). Non-circulating items, such as reference materials, some periodicals, and special collections may not be borrowed. Loan Periods: 3 weeks for books, Express books, audiobooks, CDs, magazines & DVDs/Blu-Rays. 7 days for Express DVDs/Blu-Rays. Renewals: Books, audiobooks, DVDs, Blu-Rays, CDs, vinyl records, and magazines renew automatically for five additional loan periods with the following exceptions: Express Collection or Items requested (on hold) by someone else. TexShare borrowing privileges will be denied if TexShare patrons have accrued fees exceeding $15.00. TexShare patrons are required to renew their cards on an annual basis.
