Texas Public Libraries Annual Report

Thank you to all of the Texas public librarians who participate in this survey! The reporting window opened January 3, 2024. Library directors received emails with log-in information at that time. Please contact accreditation staff if there has been a change in leadership and/or if the information has not been received.

Application and Accreditation Forms

All reports must be electronically submitted online through LibPAS, the data collection portal. 

Libraries are encouraged to submit the report by March 31, 2024, to allow staff sufficient time to process over 500 reports that will be received. The last day to submit information for accreditation eligibility is Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Accreditation Appeal:  Public libraries that do not meet certain accreditation criteria have the option to appeal loss of accreditation to the Library Systems Act (LSA) advisory board.  If you believe your library may need to appeal loss of accreditation, please contact LDN staff at accreditation@tsl.texas.gov for instructions and assistance with this process.

Public libraries all over Texas must submit the Texas Public Libraries Annual Report each year in order to be eligible for accreditation and agency programs. Take a deep dive into the LibPAS data collection portal and get to know all parts of the Annual Report. With log-in information sent to you the first week in January, we invite you to follow along for a serious look at every section, every question. Review November’s webinar, Get It Together! Preparing for the 2023 Texas Public Libraries Annual Report, to get the most out of the training. This may be counted toward TSLAC CE credit requirement however we are currently unable to provide a completion certificate because of changes to the TSLAC learning management system.

The end of the library’s local fiscal year 2023 is a great time to pull together reports and statistics that will be needed to complete the next Annual Report. Having the information at your fingertips will make completing the online report quicker and easier. Join Library Data Coordinator Valicia Greenwood as she discusses all parts of the report, walks through the requirements for and value of library accreditation, and answers any questions you may have.
