Advanced De-escalation Skills Workshop: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The Advanced De-escalation Skills Workshop will be an in-person workshop crafted for library staff in Texas public libraries who work directly with the public.
- Deepening your knowledge and skills around de-escalation.
- Connecting with peers from your region.
- Expanding your toolkit of strategies for managing challenging interactions with confidence and care.
This workshop expands upon TSLAC's 2025 workshop series covering the basics of de-escalation and personal safety led by Marty Reinsel, an experienced clinical educator and consultant with over 25 years of expertise in behavioral health and trauma-informed care. This time Marty will be joining us in person!
This advanced session will focus on navigating complex interactions, managing intense emotional escalation, and applying trauma-informed strategies to real-world library scenarios. Participants are highly encouraged to have completed the introductory session before attending.

- Live, online sessions - Sept. 3, 1:00 p.m. or Sept. 9, 10:00 a.m.
