Dear Sir
Yours of the 27th ult
was gladly received a
few days ago.
I will be glad to ans. [answer] any
thing that I can.
The picture of which you
spoke was taken from
the original man (B. R. Milam)
Just after the war of 12
the one in uniform.
The other one is
B. R. Milam of Glen Rose.
I believe that you ask
for it.
We are having a drough[t]
Which is making a
gloomy time for us.
Wishing you success
in makeing [sic] the picture
and in your future.
Will close for the present.

in Frankford Ky [Frankfort, Kentucky].
