from me some time ago

for the purpose of having

a fresher & better likeness

painted, & if I can possibly

get it, will send it to you

as it was painted just

after the battle of San Jacinto

in the suit he wore on

that occasion, but we have

twice already written for it

without getting it returned

much to our regret.
