I sent you this day by mail
a deguareatype [sic] taken of my father
Anson Jones by Allen a photographer
in 1845. It is quite dim but I
presume you can get a correct
likeness from it. [I]t is the only
one we have taken as far
back as 1845 and will give
a correct picture of him at that
time. Hoping you success with
your undertaking — I am
